Critics are pointing out that this December is one of the most crowded movie release ever as many film studios are reluctant to release big films against other big films but since Sony's Jumanji made a killing last year against all odds and was competing with Star Wars, studios are now banking on their movie to make a killing against other big movies too...

But this month is VERY crowded and one movie is having people bet on which will be the box office budget bomb...But which will it be?

The only movie I haven't heard about is this Marwen one. Bumblebee has the full force of Transformers' most popular character, Mary Poppins Returns could go either way, The Mortal Engines has the LotR fan appeal with Peter Jackson, Into the Spiderverse looks fantastic and is sure to be a holiday hit with kids (because who doesn't love Spiderman?), and while I don't think Aquaman is going to do particularly well, it has a base of fans that has defended one of the decade's worst superhero movies - so I don't think that it could possibly put the final nail in the DC movies coffin.

I've heard of each of those movies, but this Welcome to Marwen one? I haven't got a goddamn clue about what's up with this flick. That tells me that it hasn't been marketed as heavily, and it probably hasn't reached as large of a viewer base as the rest of your list. Looking at it like that, I think this will be the movie to fail.

That... doesn't look very good. Cities on wheels looks cool, sounds dumb. I looked it up and apparently the main guy's character is 16 while the actor is 30. I mean, he looks young, sure, but....

Mortal Engines is the most likely but I could see Welcome to Marwen not doing so hot too. I hope it does well though.

There's a general sense among a lot of people that Mortal Engines is going to bomb. If that feeling is prevalent enough, it will bomb because people will think it will bomb, even before the actual quality of the movie comes into play.

Also, it looks like the kind of movie going all-in for SFX at the expense of everything else. Hopefully it's not the case, and my radar for those things has nearly led me to miss some absolute gems in the past.
