For people who strongly believe in an afterlife and religious faith, I don't see why they should fear it at all. Crawling around in skeletal trusses 35+ feet from the ground. I don't work in those kinds of unsafe conditions anymore, but that's by the policy of the company I work for now. I'd have no issue at Heights doing those things again. Flogging a dirt bike or race quad around a race track at full buck. Say what you will, paralysis and death are pretty possible there. Throwing a sportbike into a corner at 3x the caution rated speed limit and feeling the rear end step out a little. That's my hobbies. I go out and do those things for fun. You just have to be 100% committed with stuff like that. And that attitude tends to bleed into the rest of your life. I'm not scared of dying. Everyone dies. I'm not going out LOOKING to die, and I use appropriate apparel and technique for what I'm doing.
