Whenever a new trend starts going on in YT, it's usually because the algorythm favors people who do it.

Idk if it's the same thing, but sometimes a box linking to another video will pop up over the end of a video. It's really annoying because I don't care about the videos they link, and they obstruct whatever I'm trying to watch. They're put directly in by youtube, and I wish I knew how to turn them off.
