Poll of the Day > Dreamcast vs. X-Box (original) vs. Wii U

These three are another group that seems closely regarded, all part of the "inferior to Gamecube" tier. though I may be overestimating Wii U's popularity. Or maybe X-Box will stomp since it's the only one that wasn't considered a flop.

Wii u just tanked, Nintendo didn't even bother with it. They knew this was dead, and just moved on quickly. Terrible name and not a good system

Dreamcast was ahead of its time. But no support and impossible to find. Awful controller.

Big black box is definitely the best of the 3. Best games out of all of these systems.

Original X-Box wins just for KotOR 1 and 2 and Jade Empire.

DC > XB and I never tried the WiiU so no idea.

Both the DC and XB had shit controllers. The DC and WiiU's controllers were gimmicky. In theory, I guess I should favor the XB just because it had an actual library, but the console and controllers annoyed me too greatly.

Shrug, all had their strengths. Xbox had the everquest top down games that were good (like the balders gate ones), Fable etc.......I found both the Xbox and Xbox 360 worth owning. Just not anything on the Xbox one that I care about (that I can't play on pc).

Dreamcast had the original Phantasy Star Online which makes it golden all by itself (other good games but that game beats out all the games on both the xbox and Wii U for me together).

Wii U actually had the least amount of good games, even if you count Zelda in there. Was one of my least favorite mario games for a system as well.

So for me it's DC>Xbox>Wii U

Wii U has more quality games than the Xbox and the Dreamcast combined

I never had a Dreamcast or Xbox. The Wii U is a criminally underrated system. I had a great time with it, it was the last console to offer free online, and virtual console (with N64 games!) is way better than a bunch of NES games no one cares about. If they had marketed it better, and if the default controller hadn't been an uncomfortable lump, it could've been very successful.

Two systems that had great games and were killed off way too quickly vs. one that should've had the plug pulled on it yet it limped along for the entire gen.

I didn't like it, but the Pro controller was fairly affordable and excellent both in design/form and battery life, so I didn't care. I did like having 2 player games have the 2nd on the pad, split screen is just terrible, especially when games divide it into left/right instead of top/bottom.

Hmm, hard to tell. What is in common with all three is that many of their "exclusives" can currently be found on other consoles and PC, which makes them feel less value IMO.

But Wii U is my favorite since there are so many things you could do on it other than just playing Wii U games.

Xbox was hands down to me. The Wii-U follows because, honestly, it had better games than the Dreamcast did. Sega and Capcom were pretty much the only ones publishing for the Dreamcast, and while those were some great games, they don't stack up to what the other two consoles were running.
