Manufacturing centers in China are hit particularly hard right now and everyone is already reporting difficulties in making their tech products right now.

If this thing goes on as long as it's expected to, I fully expect the next Gen to be delayed into next year sometime instead of this fall/winter.

I could see Microsoft manufacturing Series X in the US temporarily to get a head start on the next gen race. They can afford to take the hit.

But if not I'm fine with waiting another year.

Sony will dominate this year anyway, it just won't be from the console perspective.

doubt it, they'll do whatever they possibly can for them to push them out before the holidays. Missing that window would mean delaying them for essentially a full year, as there's basically zero chance of them dropping them randomly early or mid-year

They have the only real exclusives still coming this Gen still, and two of them are huge. I care nothing for last of us 2, but fuck yes I want ghost of tsushima.

Dropping in spring may actually work better. A lot of people will have extra money from tax returns versus the usual holiday release where people are already spending a lot of their money on gifts for others.

I play games on PC, so I'm fine with it. Sucks for console players though.

Not only that, but we've reached the point where a decent gaming pc will cost you less than $150 more than the projected new console prices. They're getting closer and closer in price, and consoles are slowly becoming weird weaker pc's for your TV.

Not a likely one given the massive impact it would have on their share price and fiscal projections for the year. They'll dump whatever capital they have to into the problem if it comes to it to avoid that, especially if it even starts to look like their competitor is going to beat them to market
