Board 8 > Does anybody know if DLC bought on one PSN account can be used by another?

Specifically on the same PS4.

I'm currently in Europe and will be for the next little while, and brought my PS4 with me. Stubbornly I am refusing to go digital if I don't need to, and while I know that games are region free, DLC isn't. Theoretically I could make a European PS4 account and buy the DLC there to play it, but would I need to be signed into that account to have access to it, or can I purchase it on the European account, install it, then sign back into my regular account to play it?

This seemed like a long question to google.

You can play the DLC on any account but i believe you need to keep the account you bought the DLC with on the system.

It's on a game-by-game basis, though I think you're right for the majority of games.

With "Toy Soldiers: War Chest" there was some controversy because not only were the licensed characters (He-Man, GI Joe, etc) not on disc, the DLC was account locked and couldn't be used even in local multiplayer. If you wanted to do GI Joe VS He-Man, you'd have to buy a second copy of the DLC. Most companies aren't that scummy, but there's at least that one exception.

That doesn't seem ideal. Might have to go digital. What are the odds FFVII Remake gets any sort of substantial DLC? Has to be low, right?

I know when i had DLC on the PS3 i never needed my US account as the primary account. Might be different on PS4 though.
