What is Game of the Month Club?
Game of the Month is a community project open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a select few games every month. The games featured each month are chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck)

The Basics
- Each month will usually feature three games that were chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated
- For each game you beat, you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing
- In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month
- If you beat one of the current month's games in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so
- Drawing for next month's games is usually around a week before the end of the month
- If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will think you are super awesome!

Nomination Rules
- You get one nomination automatically each month
- You receive additional nominations each month for every chosen game that you beat
- Each game you nominate has to be unique from all other nominations and cannot include a game that has already been selected for GotM
- Each game must be a standalone game that can be acquired and played on its own (aka cannot be DLC/expansion that requires the base game)
- Nominations only carry over if you beat a chosen game after the drawing for next month's games but before the end of the month

Finally finished Dragons Dogma and started Deiland.

Well Deiland is finished. It was cute at first but got repetitive before it ended. Oh, and the ending is an abrupt cliffhanger, the PS4 version doesnt have the dlc bonus content the steam version does and good luck trying to platinum it because it has bugged trophies. My last two trophies didnt pop.

I got a little bit further in Deiland, or at least I completed some quests. I have no idea how close I am in the grand scheme of things. I know this is a mobile title ported to other systems, so I understand that this was designed to be played in spurts, but the developers don't seem to understand or care about slack time lol.

I own both the PS4 and Steam version of Deiland, but maybe it was a mistake to do the PS4 version? I only went with that one since I paid for it. At least I am not invested in the story or anything. I just like chilling doing stuff.

Kind of a mistake unless you dont mind missing out on 4-5 more quests per npc, another planet to visit and maybe even more stuff to build/grow. Wish Id gone with the steam version.

I am up to 1-3 I believe in Mario + Rabbids. I'm waiting for the game to open up and offer more in combat because I'm not feeling it so far.

In Deiland, I wrapped up the pirate questline, and I am seeing that a few other characters are in the 70s and 80s. I was trying to get materials and stuff through discovery and crafting, but I'm just straight up buying shit lol. That being said, I am hoarding everything I get because I got screwed over in the beginning selling things that I immediately needed for other quests. My entire economic process is hammering stones a lot, selling most of those stones to the pirate, and then buy stuff when I need or want it whenever I want.

I ran into the same glitch a few times where going to the planet with the tundra would basically be a wasted trip as I couldn't speak to anyone, but all the other technical glitches I experienced were negligible. I could be wrong Fake, but I may have gotten the platinum, so if you want to tell me what trophies you missed, I can take a look and maybe be able to tell you what I did.

Anyway, this isn't the best chill game not simply in quality but through its interconnected design that requires you to meet people/do quests in certain orders to proceed in a timely manner. However, I can easily enjoy these kinds of games that aren't neutered down, and this one has plenty of content.

It was weird that the PSN version ended when it did, but I guess the Steam version has even more to offer. That will give me incentive to play it in the [distant] future.

Yea I'll be doing that for sure already did the first few hours, I'm playing Trails but theres likely 0 shot I finish it this month.

For Rancher, I think that had to do with my sheep barn. I encountered a glitch to where I couldn't feed them, and they effectively died (as in were simply no longer a part of my inventory despite visible on the planet). I destroyed the barn as I felt I had no choice. I went to the other planet, bought four sheep, went back to Deiland, made the barn again, went back to the other planet again, bought one more sheep as I was curious to how many I could have, and I believe this trophy popped.

For Master Gardner, I think that was just a set number of picking flowers fully grown out of pots? I had like 6-8 going at once, and kept calling in and buying seeds from the Lily.

Google tells me that this might help with buggy trophies:

1. Quit the game
2. Boot game back up
3. Switch languages (Spanish then back to English is their example),
4. Do the action one more time (such as growing one more flower assuming you had previously met the prerequisites)
5. Trophy unlocks?

Yeah but I swear I did well over 100 flowed and a thing said 90 was needed.I was doing the same thing you did for quite a while and nada.

Also I tried buying 5 sheep, Destroying and rebuilding the barn and the language thing. I thought the sheep just ran off though, not died?

I'm through world 2 of Mario+Rabbids.

I have mixed feelings on it so far, but I'd say more positive than negative. I enjoy the battles, as someone with no experience play XCOM it feels very beginner friendly. The world navigation and puzzles are a big miss though, I would honestly prefer if things were more streamlined battle to battle.

My biggest complaint though, the game won't let you run a party without a Rabbid. I wanted Mario, Luigi, and Peach!

I finally got around to continuing Deiland just a bit earlier. Now I'm a little over 3 hours in, and while it's still kind of rough around the edges, I've found myself thinking I'm getting used to it.

Lvl 11 in Chasm two bosses down. The game is slow but if you like metroidvanias you'll get into this one. Its not my favorite but I'm enjoying it

More Deiland! It might be very far from perfect, but I think I'm growing fond of this game. Based on some of the conversation ITT, though, perhaps it helps that I'm playing on Steam.

I am only up to 1-4 now in Rabbids, but what a chapter that was. I was waiting for something that put the team jump to better use, such as elevated and fragmented areas.

I also started Rayman Legends and wrapped up the first two levels, fully completing them in the process. I first went through this game in I believe 2013, but that was on PS3. I am going through the XB1 version now, and with a better and more comfortable controller, I decided to try the daily challenges. I thought I did excellent with one minor hiccup, and I am in line for only a bronze rank lol.

Unless you're like some sort of god speedrunner you basically have no hope of getting a diamond trophy in a challenge unless you play on a day when the murphy challenge is glitched and you die automatically after a certain point because the runner doesn't jump. Then, everyone can get one (well, you have to pick one of the princesses instead of globox or whoever as the character running to drift a few fractions of a meter further distance). Ok it's probably not quite as bleak as if you're playing on the Vita version like I have been, since it's based on the number of players. Still pretty disheartening to see top scores being say 20 kilometers on distance challenges lol.

even if you hold down the run button, it's not enough to be fast enough, you have to use some tricks to get ahead. like, you have to run attack -> jump -> forward jump kick as much as possible to keep from losing momentum. you also probably need to get a boost at the start for a really good time but I never really bothered trying to figure out how to do that too.

Important if anyone plays Chasm

There is a puzzle with a 3 number lock combo that is tied to rooms with art. In the latest patch its supposed to spawn a single art room with the answer but I got 2 art rooms instead with no 3rd for my answer and had to bruteforce

Otherwise I beat the Catacomb boss and got the slide

I wrapped up Teensies in Trouble in Rayman, with the exception of the invasion levels to come later, and I am currently in line for a silver and gold cup in the challenges!

Gameking has beaten Mario + Rabbids.

Had fun with this. Once it got going, the battle system was a lot of fun. Pulling off a really good turn always felt really rewarding. It started dragging a bit towards the end, and the sections in between battles weren't too exciting, but I enjoyed it enough that I started up the DLC a little while ago.

I had intended to play either Trials or Rayman, but I probably won't beat them within the month. I'll at least start one of them, I think.

I'll nominate Yooka-Laylee and Bioshock 2.

Chapter 3 is pretty awkward when doing 100% in Trails. Just like, run around for main quest, keep checking for guild quests and only a couple Long ones at first really, get your first major part of the main quest where you leave the city then there's like 12 Short quests. Just very strangely built.

Ah well, got that done and now it's time to push through Chapter 3.
