The scorpion wants to get across the river, so he asks the frog to carry him across. But the frog's like, "Well, what's in it for me?" And the scorpion's like, "How about five bucks?" And the frog says, "Make it 20." The scorpion's like, "Ten." The frog goes, "All right, fine, 15." And the scorpion's like, "All right, fine, 15." Then halfway across the river, the frog feels this terrible pain on his back, and... eh... the scorpion stung him. You know? And the frog's like, "Well, what the hell? We're both gonna drown now," and... they both did.

Moral of the story: The point is, frogs are bitches, and we do not negotiate with terrorists.

No one ever wrote that story, though. And it doesn't really further the metaphor.

Klaus tells it to Allison in Season 2 of the Umbrella Academy, but he messes the story up.

Yeah, I got the reference from UA.

And nobody needs to tell the story, but I hate that scorpion, so I wanted the frog to win (and eat it).

Oh, that's where you got the quote from. I thought it sounded familiar.
I watched that episode last week.

Wait...isn't the boy his son? Or is that like a spoiler from actually playing the game and his son isn't really his son and is instead like I don't know Kratos as a boy that got sucked through time and older Kratos is training younger kratos to become himself when he gets older?

I heard it (the version I heard had a fox though IIRC), but I disregarded the moral on the grounds of bullshit.
A living being doesn't knowingly throw its life away "because it's its nature". There's always a reason, regardless of whether or not you know or understand or accept it.

Yeah, I mean, why wouldn't the scorpion just wait till they got to the other side of the river and THEN sting the frog. Frog dies, scorpion scurries of, end of story. Moral? History belongs to the living, so the moral is, scorpions rule and frogs are dead.

To be fair, Kratos does basically kill every living thing he meets, so eventually the name would be pretty appropriate as it would be the last boy alive.
