I feel that a report to CPS isnt something to take lightly.

With that said... the statement she made, all based on an election, is damning. And it would warrant an investigation.

Also, these people like to distract folks from the truth with pedophilia. Its the perfect system. It has the shock value needed to hook people. Appeals to adults natural instinct to protect children, and it also allows others not to judge them. A vegan diet tends to be deficient on certain things the brain needs, and while those in the know take supplements and are fine, trying to go that rout without knowing that could lead you in a bad place mentally/intellectually.

My comment was basically just a stab in the dark as to how someone can be so stupid as to take a stance like that. I could have just said "where the hell did she go to school, assuming she ever did at all?", but that wouldn't have been nearly as thought provoking. If you're going to get so agitated over people pondering the circumstances of the people you create topics about, it may be healthier for you to give such topics a rest.

You chose to posit she's suffering from a specific consequence of a specific form of malnutrition from a specific type of diet.

Had you even said that "people like her" were the result of malnutrition in general, that would still be coming out of left field, even though grossly more likely (by virtue of being less specific).

Your intention here was obviously to poke fun at veganism. And it just made you look silly.

I'm not sure that there's any real solution. Part of the problem is that the world's public education systems are such crap, but even people who *should* think critically rarely fact-check before believing and sharing claims that seem fake even at face value. And keep in mind that Snopes debunked the GWB upside down book photo almost 20 years ago and people still believe that.

And then the greater problem is that it's not simply a matter of the internet. Mainstream media outlets -- on BOTH sides -- knowingly report and repeat false claims, as well as reporting dubious claims with a brazen indifference which are only rarely retracted, corrected, or modified. Fishgate is a great example because some of the outlets buried the added context deep in the story while keeping the originally misleading title and opening paragraphs to suggest that Trump had acted inappropriately when he had simply followed Shinso Abe's lead. (Granted, it's worth mentioning that the media has *always* had problems when it came to embellishing or outright lying in its stories so it's not an entirely new issue.)
