I don't think I could but it might be beneficial because you could super impose positive feelings from a previous relationship onto the new person. But the opposite is true too. Wild.

My brother dated a girl with my name once. But my name is so common in girls my age. He's only a couple years older than me.

Ew. Don't impose your feelings of past relationships onto me. Judge me for who I am, not for whoever your exes were.

And I could do it. But right now I'm the one who shares a name with my girlfriend's ex.
Thankfully everyone, including her, called him by his middle name instead of his first name. Phew.

I had a friend in high school who got a pet Pug that got killed by a rabid racoon when she was just a puppy.
Like a year later he got a Shiba that he gave the same name. I wouldn't be able to do that.

I don't really have hangups with that but tbh I don't really have any past relationships under my belt that elicit strong feelings one way or the other.

Mom's or sister's name would be too much for me I think. Seemingly everyone on dating sites has my sister's name though

You could have some fun with it, though...

That reminds me of something on base. These guy and girl got married before we got to base. And because they did, they had the same last name. But on base, you call people by their last name. So, we put an M in front for the guy, and F for the girl. Since the name start with a vowel, it worked out pretty well...

I wouldn't care. I'd have a harder time if the person's name was really fucking stupid. It means at best their parents are fools and at worst they're selfish assholes or hippies. I am sure if they were perfect in all other ways, more or less, I could maybe get over it... but I have this real hang-up with dumb, made-up names.
