Any kind of thing. Games, movies, shows, books, sports, food. Anything.

I feel like Im always cluttering up the board with topics about some new game or tv show Im watching so Im gonna try to contain those conversations to just one topic when I can help it. And if anyone else wants to use this topic to talk about their current interests or just share then that is cool too.

Right now Im playing a game called Going Under. Its a rogue dungeon crawler but the dungeons you explore are failed tech startups. Its goofy but Im enjoying it a lot. One of the health pickups you can find is avocado toast with the description A delicious alternative to home ownership!

Also Ive talked about it before but if anyone is a fan of Super Troopers or Beerfest you should totally give Tacoma FD on HBO a shot, its really funny.

There's the usual weekly mangas I follow. But I have been trying to catch up on movies I missed in the last 2-3 years since new big ones aren't really coming out much. I recently watched Glass, Suspiria, The Witches and the Jumanji movies. Couple weeks back it was Tenet, Color Out of Space and Vivarium.

Also have a massive backlog of TV shows I have to catch up, mostly CW stuff like The Flash. I downloaded the most recent season of American Horror Story so that's what I'm currently watching.

Starcraft 2 -Leveling Stukov right now. I forgot how fun he is, but his economy is SO SLOW.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Doing Blue Lions route now. My Dimitri and Annette are SO STRONG. They both one shot anything that dares come near them (though Annette is much more frail).

Among Us -I play with a group. It's mostly been fine, though things are getting kinda monkaS.

Bayonetta -It's on my list of games to complete this year from my Steam Backlog. I recently best The Walking Dead (it's good! Though slow! Would recommend still!). Bayonetta is next on the list. Then Catherine Classic.

The X-Men movies -I started when Evan Peters appeared in WandaVision. Didn't realize it was all one connected story/universe. I thought they reboot it. Recently finished Logan (it was good!). Currently struggling to get through Dark Phoenix.

The best kinds of threads.
This is what would happen in the old days. You don't get that anymore. It's how you build relationships without Discord.

Television: American Gods Season 3
Anime (Currently Airing): Yuru Camp S2, Non Non Biyori Nonstop, Horimiya, Golden Egg Priority (AOTS)
Anime (from backlog): Kimi ni Todoke
Manga: Watamote, Hitoribocchi (Still catching up, want to finish before it ends).
Games: I hit 4000 hours played on Steam for STO this week, and two new personal best DPS records (and one of them is rank 1 for my profession).

Other things: Vtubers, vtubers, vtubers. People don't read the Anime thread. They should.

Orlando Jones is a great actor.
I think this season is a bit hit or miss. I keep on expecting Sweeney to show back up, despite the fact it's obvious he's not. The main Old Gods vs New Gods story is still as good as it's been, and I like both Laura and Tech way more than I did in previous seasons, but there have been some pretty graphic episodes with Bilquist and Salim (not them together, but different story arcs) that have turned me off.

Learning how to cook/bake. Been meaning to ask @grimhilde00 for a recipe she posted in another topic a while back that I want to try. I opened it in a tab without bookmarking it and my browser crashed :/ I want to say it was chicken adobo drumsticks?

Been trying to be more proactive about housework to help my wife out. I've always done laundry and dishes consistently but she's been under a lot of stress this past year and I'm trying to shoulder more responsibility around the house for her sake. The cooking is part of it, and I'm finding that I enjoy it :)

Oh yeah, I've discovered that as well since we hit the pandemic, in fact, my SO and I have been sitting down every week to say what we want for dinner throughout the week for about a month now.

I know it's basic adulting stuff, but, it's super nice to just look at the fridge and see that I need to make pigs in a blanket tonight, and steak with mushrooms tomorrow, and then go through the week. Plus it's a nice time for us to sit down, talk about what we want to eat, and plan things out.

I've been the one who looks stuff up and find weird stuff to make (my local asian grocery store didn't have any of the stuff for mapo tofu sadly), and she has been making giant meals for herself for lunch for work on sunday and piecemealing it out.

I really like learning about new things and new techniques, so it's been just fun for me.

I have trouble motivating myself but I love cooking. Every Sunday my wife and I grill a bunch of food and meal prep for the week. Weve been doing it for a couple months now and its been great. After we move I think we might try out one of those meal kit services like Hello Fresh or Blue Apron just to try out more things

I've got a bucket of youtubers that I follow that I occasionally go "oh that sounds really good and straightforward, I should make that". Then I can look around for it.

One thing that does come up over and over again is me trying to figure out how to do something well. For the life of me I can't make a decent curry, and right now I'm trying to find a recipe that I can cook tofu well. Not the western style of smushing the shit out of it, and then frying it, but making it taste good by itself with its own benefits.

I feel weird about meal kit services because it feels like someone telling you what to make, and then doing the grocery shopping for you. There's always some weird obscure thing, but you normally can substitute it with something else. There has to be a better solution than that.

EDIT: Also, my youtube people I follow because I like them.

Nice, I don't collect physical media myself, but I got my close friend started on collecting Criterions (and other boutique releases like Arrow and some others) after I bought him the Criterion edition of Antichrist for his birthday. If there's ever a film I don't have access to through streaming I'll usually go in on buying a copy with him (I split the cost of the first World Cinema Project boxset and The Human Condition with him). I'm pretty sure he already plans on getting this one, but I'll put it on his radar if not!

I really want to get the Criterion streaming service, but it's not available on the platform I use for my services (my PS4).

Not really a "new" thing, but since the Yakuza Remastered collection has made it's way to PC, 2021 basically has become the year of Yakuza for me. Making my way through 3, going to play 4, then 5 after. Then pick up and play 6 once it comes out later this month. I have also heard rumors that since Judgement is coming to a bunch of systems in April that it might make it's way to PC as well. Would love to play that one.

Also, my comic book reading oddly enough kind of slowed down last year, so am catching up on that. Got a couple of old Vertigo stories I am going through, then plan to read Punisher from the 2010's. And of course Daredevil, Black Widow, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when new ones of those come out.
