Silver just peed on the floor while i cleaned her litterbox

Maybe did not read the hint because she was meowing loud when i took the box out. I thought she wanted food because it was also her dinnertime.

My cats are not handling the trip the way I thought they would.

My normally shy, reserved cat has been exploring around the house and making herself cozy in conspicuous spots. Meanwhile, my outgoing, attention-seeking cat has been hiding in various places almost the entire time I've been here. He also growled and meowed for almost the entire car ride. He wouldn't come out of his carrier for an hour. I'm worried that he's traumatized.

Yeah. I found him when he was a young cat (probably six months old) and I've had him for almost five years. I've lived in the same apartment that whole time and the furthest he's been is to the vet like fifteen miles away.

I've only had my other cat for about five months and she was an elderly stray before that. I think maybe she's used to things being unstable, so the new location isn't as shocking to her.

I bet he will be happy. All the familiar smells. I am still afraid the day i gotta go out of town. I would probably have them stay at the vet they have pet hotels but it wouldn't be comfortable and foreign. I don't go to vacations, but like if relatives got sick or i got business. Ughh.

it takes time for the pet to adjust to new surroundings. had to deal with that twice. 1st one about 8-9 years ago. 2nd time last year.

my dog is sleeping more than ever. it's the old age. dog had a phase of not eating her dog food for a week. had to try different brands to see if she'll eat that.

she's 10 years old now.

I wish Mochachino wanted to get that close but other than scheduled walk bys for pets, she keeps her distance a little

She's in for a surprise though in two weeks when mother and father visit me along with their two doggos (a Maltipoo and a Havanese, both 6 years old). I have the space for everyone and enough to keep her separated with everything she needs, but I'm hoping she gets along with them by the end of their visit. If it was just the Havanese I would feel pretty confident about that since he's a chill dog that's a little grumpy, but the Maltipoo is the trouble maker with endless energy.

My cats seem to have completely readjusted to being back at home. I'm going to have to talk to my vet about getting something to calm Archie down on car rides for next time though. He was freaking out, throwing himself against the grate of the carrier, and desperately trying to scratch his way out for almost the entire drive.

Yeah cats doesn't do well in new environment. New place, they smells weird, and they don't know where the safest and quietest hidey holes are.

Rivel spent 2 weeks living mostly under the bed and come out only to eat and use litterbox. It took her a month to fully adjust and become more confident.

Losing my cat last year was absolutely devastating. He pulled me through a really difficult point in my life and having to let him go felt like the only bit of brightness in my world had been snuffed out.

Pets are so dependent on you that you tend to form a very unique and intense attachment to them. At least I do. Some people say things like, "It's just a cat," but "just a cat" would curl up in my lap and purr for hours when it felt like my life was spiraling out of control. "Just a cat" sought me out for attention and affection when I felt completely alone in this world. It was "just a cat" who, when he had been so sick that he couldn't walk straight and hid under the bed for a week, made his way into the living room and gently meowed for me as if to say, "It's okay," like he knew the horrible decision I had to make that day.

I loved that cat and he loved me. I don't care what anyone says; losing him still hurts.

Yeah my dog of 11 years got cancer and had to be put down back when I was in grad school. Parents called me when they were on the way to the vet to do it so I could say my last goodbye. Meanwhile I was on my way to the campus.

I still kinda kick myself for not going home (I was in Indiana, family lives in Georgia) a couple months prior like I usually did because I wanted to catch up on work, so the last time I had seen him was the previous Christmas. I knew he was declining but it all went really downhill over the course of a week. Died a couple of days before my birthday.

But yeah I couldn't hold back the tears that day in the lab and I didn't get any work done for the rest of that week. I actually put up a framed picture of him about a month ago and texted a photo of it to my parents, and my mom called me a few minutes later about to cry even though it's been a little over 6 years since he died.
