I did not dig Day and Age at all when it came out, like I thought tracks like Neon Tiger and Dustland Fairytale were kinda cool but I was glad when they got more back to their roots with Battle Born.

Oddly enough Day and Age is probably what I listen to the most, I think young me was just being a weird goob about it being not as rock focused and more off beat and kinda jazzy. Im into it now

Like 90% of the time a bands biggest hit is among their worst so you should probably stop doing that

is it cause its so overplayed there? I hear it is for some reason just a constant club anthem in the UK

which is cool and all, personally I think the song is incredible, but it was just a regular summer hit here in the US as far as I could tell

I despise the song, and if that is deemed "the best they have to offer" for the radio then I'm giving them a hard pass.

Pretty much all bands have much better songs deeper in their discography though

They're absolutely wretched. The only song I like is "All These Things I've Done" because I was introduced to it from Southland Tales, one of the most wonderfully terrible movies I've ever seen. Justin Timberlake having fun drinking beers while imaging candy stripe nurses dancing around him to the song; the most pointless and the most important scene in a pretentious film made by a guy drunk on his cult classic fame.

Especially funny because of the "I'm not a soldier" verse being sung by a character who is. Stupid, stupid movie.

They're kind of all over the place. They're very much not a band that anyone should be judging - well or poorly - based on one song.
