not to defend CNN, they worded it moronically and the media isnt a thing people should worship or blindly trust at all, but people really should be grateful and respectful to actual journalists, of which there are some employed by every major news network

theyve been bringing things out into the light that are important and that we wouldnt have otherwise known about. Things that need to change.

Yeah, but it's veterans day, they can fuck off with trying to steal the spotlight. It's not so much what they said but when and how they said it that makes them look like complete tools.

I was in the military, but have quite a cantankerous relationship with the military industrial complex, and the propaganda that fuels it.

I know some good people who served though, and they deserve to have a day.

I feel very strongly that the government goes out of their way to create hurdles to keep many veterans from getting what they have rightfully earned.

They conceptualize it by saying that they offer it to all veterans which they do. But they dont tell people about what a quagmire the whole system is, and that it is seemingly that way by design just to cheat some people out of an agreement that you made.

Ive worked with a couple of vets who lived with a lot of pain and theyd have to wait months and months for any kind of help

which is insane because the US military is the richest and most powerful thing pretty much, they could do the right thing and it wouldnt even show up as a rounding error

Thats kinda my go-to plan. But as a veteran I dont really care about Veterans Day really, but if the media wants one then whatever. Journalists have made significant contributions to this country and were better off for it.

Its frustrating for me, at least, because there seems to be almost no rhyme or reason to their decision making. Ive had a PTSD claim sitting in the court system in DC since February 2020. Im not a Nam vet that had to dig up old paperwork, I have everything on record.

And on the opposite hand I know people making literally thousands a month in disability from the VA despite not doing a day overseas all because they knew how to play the system.
