How mad does this make you? We're out here administering vaccines and fucking loving it. Actually helping the world and being pro-medicine is a good, positive thing. We are not harming or murdering anyone.

What is the scientific rationale for vaccinating kids? Based on the below kids have like a stupidly low chance of dying from covid of like 2 in a million.

Is it purely to stop them spreading it?

Im not an anti vaxxer. Im double jabbed and so is my wife and I encourage people to get double jabbed.

But as with every medicine whether that be vaccines or even paracetamol there is the chance for an adverse reaction. To state there is no chance at all is just as blind as the anti-vaxxers tbh and just fuels them.

Its just at a 2 in a million chance of a kid dying from covid how does that compare?

I've been kicked and punched a couple times already. Then there's the ones who just cry and scream the second I pull out the needle. Most kids are good but the few terrible ones we get a couple times a day really get to me, and their parents just sit there and do nothing.

The chances of dying are less with a vaccine than they are with COVID even for children. And when children do catch COVID if they are vaccinated they will die at a rate much less than 1 in 2 million.

Again there's no downsides and only benefits.

Are there any stats for adverse reactions to covid though? You say there are no downsides and I imagine there are very few but I cant imagine its zero. What about the whole blood clotting thing from a little while back or was that proven false?

When people say no downsidss, they mean generally no downsides.

This is like saying you give breatharians fuel if you claim there are no risks to eating dinner. Technically, anything can happen, but nothing on Earth would be acceptable if we freaked out over every minute chance of harm.

Who cares if it's not zero? It's still better than COVID. Blood clot thing was proven to be within the expected frequency of people who got that issue before vaccines.

I'd like to ask what the scientific benefit is of not vaccinating children?

And how would it make you feel if your kid was one of the two 2 in a million because you refused the vaccine?

My issue is with him saying there are no side affects when that is just not true. The likely hood of getting them are very very low but they are still there. When you are taking about kids having a 2 in a million chance of dying from covid I think its sensible to compare that with the chances of getting anaphylactic shock to similar.

Id feel guilty as fuck but I dont get how the same logic of hockeybubs answer doesnt apply. Thats why I asked for stats. 2 in a million is pretty low. I imagine a lot of people do things every day that are more risky and dont bat an eyelid.

To put things in perspective the odds of someone dying in a car crash are only 1 in 100,000.

Remember when Feline made a topic questioning why vaccine mandates were necessary if the vaccine doesn't reduce spread? And then people told him that it does in fact reduce spreading, and he pretended to have learned something, like the topic was a genuine topic.

But then here he is, posing the same "questions":

The other suggestion someone pointed out was that we shouldn't say there is 0 risk as their is the extremely low chance to have an anaphylatic response to any vaccine, which brings that risk ever so slightly about 0, but still is an extremely tiny risk

Neither of those are antivax sentiments. Yet everyone freaks out on him

The point I'm making has to do with people response to Feline here.

In any subject, when someone is trying to gain knowledge about a topic they're undecided or uninformed about and one side comes at them screaming their opinions, REGARDLESS of how correct they are, the response from the person seeking knowledge usually isn't going to be to fall right into line with that person shouting at them.

My point is that over the entire vaccine discussion worldwide if people chose to educate and inform about vaccines in a more polite/respectful manner I think we'd have seen less push back from folks
