I'm a bit confused by the price tag of the separate DLC. Does the $25 only get the first wave?

$25 gets the entire thing. Kinda wild for 48 courses.

It was confusing, but I'm very much assuming it was the whole fucking thing for 25.

Yea it said waves 1-6 $25.

While this is cool, I would have also liked some new characters. Like Pauline, and the Broodals. Tatanga and Monty Mole as well.

$25 is for all the waves. The question is if the DLC can be kept if the subscription runs out. I might pass then and just get the DLC.

Adds value to the subscription for sure but also pretty good deal for the DLC anyway.

Interesting direction for Nintendo though. Premium DLC behind their subscription is actually pretty smart of them.

Yeah you're not going to keep the dlc if you stop paying for the sub lol that's like asking to keep Gears 4 if you stop paying for Gamepass.

No, it's just like the AC DLC. If you cancel your subscription, you lose access to the DLCs. Unless you buy it for $25 separately.

I'm pretty hyped for this, definitely not something I was expecting.

Now I get to spend the better part of the year wondering which tracks will get added. Really hope we get DK Mountain and Daisy Cruiser from Double Dash (I hated that the former got wasted on Mario Kart Wii). I was pretty miffed that DD's representation in MK8 was two of its worst tracks, though the later addition of Baby Park and Yoshi's Circuit was very appreciated.

Yeah, $25 for 48 courses is a steal even if they are all old tracks. I'd go with that instead of the online expansion if N64 and Genesis games don't interest you.

Doesn't seem worth it unless you're also gonna play the Animal Crossing DLC and N64/Genesis games. If you get it just for Mario Kart you'll end up paying more than the DLC is worth

I'm contemplating, but I really hate to give Nintendo money anything relating to their online service because it's garbo. Smash for the Wii U online was somehow better than Smash Ultimate online for crying out loud.

Well I think that's the point. Not thinking beyond the one year, that will make the other content cost five dollars if you're already paying into NSO, which is reasonable, because there are people who DO want to play those N64/Genesis games but don't want to pay that much.

I know we've already got 3 fricking Rainbow Roads in MK8, but I really want DD's version in there so I can hear an updated version of that game's rendition of the RR theme, which is still my favorite. Also the course is hard as balls, so it'd be fun to see the sheer madness of it in 200cc.

I've never really cared for it. The ice-skating Shy Guys were cute, but that's about it. It's nowhere near as boring as Dry Dry Desert, I'll give it that, but having both of those be DD's initial representation in MK8 over something like Daisy Cruiser, Mushroom Bridge / City, Wario Stadium, Dino Dino Jungle, etc added a layer of disdain on Sherbet Land that wasn't there before.

Definitely gonna buy it separately since the online service is only gonna be around for so long and if I wanna play those DLC tracks 10 years down the line I will probably be SOL.

Why would this be the reason? Buy the DLC separately instead of paying more yearly.

The Animal Crossing DLC wasn't kept if you didn't renew the expansion pass
