I remember seeing it for $5 a few months after it came out and still being like ".....neh"

I still wish it worked and they actually had a cohesive vision for it. It had potential to be great and they just... made almost every wrong choice they could with it.

I heard literally the only thing good was the flying. Everything else was terrible

The internet is so weird about AAA that miss the mark, even slightly.

It was actually quite decent for what it was. Brand new IP with solid, unique gameplay. Iron Man power fantasy felt perfect tbh. Shame that we never got a sequel, had a lot of great ideas.

Was that the game where people did the math and figured out that due to the way level scaling worked, the gun you get at the very beginning was actually the best weapon in the whole game?

And even the flying they made limited.

Should have just let you fly as you like, fix the combat, guns and drops and you've got something that would've been fantastic

It was a game named Anthem. It never appeared to be anything more than that.
People bought it for some reason.

I remember the devs banned players for using a glitch to get more loot lol. Imagine banning all 12 of your playerbase

What was the glitch? It sounds familar

The PSN store still charges above normal retail price for it when it isn't put on sale.

I'm so sad about how Anthem turned out. The actual gameplay was fun as hell. Flying around and raining down fury on enemies felt great. But the endgame was garbage and they went with that terrible games as a service model.

With some fixes, it could have been a great game.

I vaguely remember one of the glitches being some like being able to spam skills that were suppose to be on cooldown

didn't it get released right when Apex did, and they are basically the same game, and the ornery gamers made their choice to go with Apex instead of Anthem?

Apex and Anthem are not the same game >_>

I played up until they padded out the game with a whole bunch of checklist collection quests you needed to play to proceed through the damn main story.

No thanks.

Tbh if they had that flying and combat with traditional Bioware stuff all around it the game could have been good. But nooo they wanted Destiny money.

Apex is a Battle Royale and Anthem is more like Destiny. Destiny copycasts have mostly flopped. Even Activision wasn't particularly fond of Destiny's business model and let them go.

Apex Legends? That's in Fortnite's market, not Anthem. Completely different games.

I feel like they choose to just constantly put games on sale when they sell, rather than bring the price down permanently. Maybe it sells a lil better. Would make sense. I rarely look through anything other than sales.
