Crosby, Stills & Nash have returned to Spotify after a five-month boycott. The group and its members announced in February that they were joining Neil Youngs protest against the platformciting misinformation about COVID-19 and vaccinesand their catalogs mostly disappeared soon after. Now, Graham Nash says in a statement that Spotify has taken a positive step by adding a Covid content advisory to podcasts that include a conversation about Covid, directing listeners to a Covid information hub. The group will donate revenue from its first month back on Spotify to charity, according to the statement.

Young first demanded Spotify remove his music from the platform in January this year. He called out the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, which doctors have repeatedly urged Spotify to censor. They can have [Joe] Rogan or Young, he said. Not both.

Young was soon joined by Joni Mitchell, Crazy Horses Nils Lofgren, India.Arie, Graham Nash, and later Stephen Stills and David Crosby, who all removed large portions of their catalogs. At the time, the trio said, We support Neil and we agree with him that there is dangerous disinformation being aired on Spotifys Joe Rogan podcast. They appear to be the first of the high-profile departures to return to the platform.

Didn't even last a full year, guess the well dried up faster than expected.

Yikes, that's one deep L they took.

Simutaniously exposed that they need cash, can't stand by their prinicples and Rogan is beloved.

Not only did they return, they straight up abandoned Neil Young, who hasn't returned. He was like "it's me or Rogen" and they were like "fuck yeah", but then the warning was enough for them, so they were like "fuck Neil Young, I'm coming back"

That doesnt really solve anything, as anybody who was going to spread misinformation still does so, and anybody who was going to consume it will just ignore the warning anyway.

Literally nothing of significance has happened here. Its a face saving measure so spotify can pat itself on the back for what a great job theyve done without actually having to do anything in any way.

Hate to break it to you, but if they straight up removed him, the result would be the same. He would just be back on YouTube with no warning for misinformation.
