Grudge scared me as a kid but not anymore. And then I watched Gonjiam as an adult and got scared shitless all over again

as a teen who watched it alone on a large TV it scared me the f out to go to sleep with lights off with that same TV in the bedroom.

Babadook was the only one I found legitimately unsettling

I dont know if it holds up today, but just about the only movie to scare the hell out of me was one called Ghost House. Its basically a haunted house movie about a dead girl and this evil clown doll

The doll and the creepy nursery rhymes they sing is what got me. I had to force myself through that movie as a kid

Also the original Nightmare on Elm Street and Graveyard Shift are worth a mention

Another really underrated movie is The Eye (the original HK one, not the shitty American remake).

Such a simple but original premise that allowed for tons of creative scares. The way they did the ghosts made them look so human, which made it hard to tell who was really a ghost and who wasnt

As a kid I would have said Alien. That movie fucked me up. I love it now though.

As far as Im an adult? Sinister was pretty freaky. It Follows was fantastic. Ringu still holds up. Insidious is great too.

I havent seen them but Midsommar and Hereditary seem to be up there.

Relic is an amazing movie, though maybe not THAT scary. I'd call it an allegory.

As much as I like horror movies,they just don't scare me. As Above,So Below was creepy and had me on edge. But that's the most I get nowadays.

This italuan horror movie where a guy gets crucified and like melted with acid so now he haunts a house.It was terrifying

Normally horror movies don't scare me but Nightmare on Elm St does. It unnerves me especially when Freddy pulls his damn face off..

Dude, while watching It Follows, I was like, "this movie ain't so bad."
Trying to sleep that night was like, "is the tall guy gonna show up?"

It was such a delayed scare reaction. So fucking good!

Not really scary, but Midsommar was one that got a welp, dont need to watch that again reaction from me. Then I watched it two more times lol.

Sixth Sense and Grudge fucked with me a lot. Id go into my kitchen and think about seeing someone or look up in the corner of my room picturing someone. I dont really mess with horror movies and I really dont like the mind fucking ones.

Poughkeepsie Tapes is one sick movie! Some of the acting and mockumentary stuff gets a little cheesy but there are some truly scary moments. It's a shame it didn't get more recognition and didn't get a proper release..

It's billed as a comedy but after a few beers and other intoxicants, it's the most anxiety inducing thing I've ever watched.

I don't care for genuine horror. Does nothing for me. The closest thing otherwise would be The Lighthouse.

When I was a kid, I would still say A Flower of Flesh and Blood.

These days I am pretty jaded and movies don't scare me outside of cheap jumpscares. Haunted doll movies are still creepy though. We need more of those. Annabelle creation had some really great moments
