Dave Chapelle is funny, his other Netflix specials were funny. But The Closer was an hour+ of Chapelle shitting on a marginalized group, every trans joke was bottom-tier basic-b jokes and it was so obvious this entire special was just Chapelle trying to flex on like, the 13 year olds on twitter who don't like him. Like The Closer wasn't a comedy special - it was a "lets give Dave an hour to talk about strangers who don't like him" And the whole ending just felt tasteless where he was rubbing his dead trans "friend" in a "I can't be racist I have a black friend" way.
