Nope. Maybe one of them was false but that wasn't the only claim by a long shot. They kept piling up, witnesses to his behavior kept coming forward. It was not one person, it was not one thing.

Now remember, none of these court cases were to determine if he committed criminal acts.

It was a civil case.

Yeah I stopped keeping up when I read one of them was made up and thought the story was over and he got screwed by Funimation. I didnt know it went further.

A quick Google search reveals a lot of creepy Vic stories well before he was dropped by the voice acting industry. There may be some people lying about accusations, but my gut says Vic has done bad things based on all the rumors well before he became a pariah.

So hes never been convicted over the accusations? I know his behavior is questionable if the accusations have truth to them and Funimation would be within their right to want to distance themselves from that.

bad dub < sub < mediocre dub < good dub

The only benefit the sub gives you is it sounds better because you not hearing/understanding the cringy dialog, you're reading the cringy dialog in a language you don't speak, so it sounds less cringy. The reason english dubs sound worse to you isn't because english VA's are inferior, it's just that you can understand the cringe shit they're saying without the disconnect.

I dunno hearing the same six people at funimation in every anime dub got tiresome real quick. It's much harder for me to recognize foreign languages voices.

Japanese-spoken English is also a big part of some franchises, in particular Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. "HEY ITS-A BASEBALL" said by a Japanese guy is so much better than just actual competent English. "ZA WARUDO" sounds cooler than "The World!" Use of English as a dramatic punch or flair is inevitably lost in a dub.

I don't find subs very intrusive to my viewing experience and I may even recall the scenes as though they were spoken in English so that does influence my thoughts on the matter. I do enjoy some dubs though, particularly Death Note

IIRC the lawsuit was about wrongful termination & saying he did something when at the time it was only alleged, not that he was innocent of accusations. It's still just alleged AFAIK since I don't think he ever went to court over these accusations.
