I just finished Reset by Panda Bear & Sonic Boom before making this topic. I thought this might make an interesting topic, as I know a lot of people just go for singles, mixes and playlists.

The Forever Story by JID. Amazing.

Before that, recently relistened to Shields by Grizzly Bear.

I usually always listen to albums over singles and playlists.

It was last year, but I listened to the entire Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) soundtrack.

Most of the time, though sometimes I'll skip a song or two if I really don't like em. The last one I listened to is The Scorpions Greatest Hits.

Listened to the new Muse album today. Its trashy fun.

I collect vinyl, so I'm a big fan of listening to an entire album. Last one was a week ago though, we both listened to Pink Floyd's Meddle while walking the dog. Going to see Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets next month, so we'll be doing the Piper/Saucerful/Atom/Meddle/Obscured run on vinyl a couple times.

About to spin the 20th anniversary repressing of dredg's first album, Leitmotif. Only ever had mp3s that I downloaded a couple years after release, so I'm stoked to give it a proper listen.

i've listened to some moonsorrow demos but idk if that really counts. before that was rainbow's first album, which i'm not really that into, so i will cheat and say iron maiden - powerslave

No idea, I fall into the listens to singles and playlists group.

Just listened to all of Antipop by Primus.

I think it's the only Primus album I like tbh, but it's pretty fucking great.

Today was a relatively light day as I had meetings all day at work, I just listened to Cruel Country by Wilco and One Day by The Cactus Blossoms

Nurture by Porter Robinson was the last album I listened from from to back without skipping a second. Absolutely beautiful electronic album. I do think he could have cut a few tracks out since every song largely has the same vibe, but it still an incredible listen.

I need to go back and finish Worlds, his original album. There are some bangers on there. I need to get better at listening to albums. I tend to sample a few songs from an album without giving the rest of the songs on it a fair shake.

one of those records that got me into afrobeats.

The last full album I heard was Bleed Out by the Mountain Goats.

Cliffnotes about this whole thing: been a longtime fan, prefer the earlier stuff, the last two albums have been kind of meh. I attribute this to a difference in production, where the lead singer has been urged to rein in their control by a producer.

Bleed Out is the best Mountain Goats album in five years.

There was a serious throwback album in 2020 that I really like, but my favorite recent release was a concept album about goth rock from 2017. This album continues the concept album route, but about like RedLetterMedia-tier VHS action movies. And it manages to balance the fast-based, raw feel of a production like that with the incredible indie ballads that I love this band so much for.

Contrast a song like Wage Wars Get Rich Die Handsome with Bleed Out. The first third of the album is full of bangers. The second third is kinda weak. The third half is full of Mountain Goats-isms that I am fully into.

I can't really overemphasize how much I prefer this album over the past five years of Mountain Goats music. It's not perfect, but no Mountain Goats album is perfect. It's just very good.

My trips to and from work range between 35 minutes up to an hour, so I listen to multiple albums a week.

Purple Rain by Prince and Renaissance by Beyonce were my last two.

A few days ago I listened to Tame Impala - Lonerism (mostly to get back into a college mood lol)
