So we didn't, but from previous conversations I figured it had happened several years ago, possibly from when they both kids

I didn't really know how to react aside from trying to be there for them. it completely changed how I viewed the person who did it though, obviously.

Side note, I don't like how the definition of molestation states "especially to a woman or child".... Like why even say that.

Semi-related story.
I was on a cruise ship once, had a couple drink, got in with a group of random dudes and we were just walking around
At one point we walk into a cabin where this one chick is asleep, and these guys start talking about..."doing things" to her.

I don't know if they were serious or just joking, but i made it very clear that i was not comfortable and that we should leave.

I left the group shortly after, i hope my protest was enough that nothing happened later

Had a friend in university who told us she was raped by a guy who transferred from our school.

Turned out he didn't transfer, and was just cross-registered in a couple classes with another school. So some female members of our group confronted him, and he showed all the texts related to it.

Turned out he didn't rape her and she was just being psychotic, dang near demanding it, being sexually aggressive, and threatening to rape him when he was trying to get her to stop her behavior. The whole friend group (And dorm we stayed in) never trusted her after that, and she was the one who ended up transferring :x

Are you kidding me? Moat of my female friends have told me stories of at least attempted rape or assault. When I hear men ask surprised, I just know that means that they aren't ever trusted enough by women for them to open up to. I should note that when I say "at least", several had it actually happen.

You are a terrible human if making a big delineation and can't understand "at least" as well. Yes, being groped and raped is different but it is part of the same culture and most women I know have been well beyond a sinple grope at some point.

My first serious gf lost her virginity getting raped at an outdoor concert. She was drunk and he followed her into the tent she went to pass out in.

But this girl was not a liar .

So years after that we were dating , we were at another house party. One of the attempted rapists showed up and she started hyper ventilating and panicking. I sent her out to the car and I rolled up to the guy , non chalant. I was friends with his brother. I told him , let's go talk outside for a second.

As we walked down the stairs , I said "remember what you did to _____ ( my ex). Then I sucker punched him as hard as I could in the back of the skull. I didn't know how to fight then so after that I just jumped on him and tried to choke him and he ran away. I tried though , and my girl appreciated it. She was watching through the glass door out to the parking lot. I gained more respect from her that night.

Many. I was a sort of student counselor in high school. Students(read: girls) would talk to me about things that they couldn't talk to adults about. 95% were "Condom broke, might be pregnant", but a few were suicide and rape related.

There have also been a few friends who have confided in me outside of that. My little sister, for one. Couple girlfriends and a few friends. Worst was a buddy's girlfriend, who told me he step father would bring dudes over and her mom would film it. She was nine.

I don't tend to have any reaction to it, I just listen. Except my sister, that was the attempted murder charge.

By this definition, I don't think I know a guy who wasn't molested. I've had my space violated by at least 5-10 girls and like 3-5 guys just off the top of my head. Don't/haven't really given it a thought before this thread.
