Today at work is extremely boring. I've inspected the labs, updated on current projects (everyone needs to get back to me on stuff), and copied another one of my guides into Word as part of my preservation "just in case" project.

*slumps in chair* Uggggghhh making me choose my favorite child, eh? I see how it is. :-P

I will always criticize myself for not being thorough "enough" in my Like a Dragon guides, despite the traffic they get, and with the LEGO guides I feel like given the simplicity of the concept of the games that I'm kinda taking Easy Street to pump those out. So none of those.

For the amount of work it took and the fulfillment I got from the process, I'm going to have to go with my Smash Ultimate Spirit Origins guide that nobody reads. That took me a looong time to complete and I learned so much about Nintendo's really obscure games in the process.

Actually yes.

A. R. Moxon; @JuliusGoat on Twitter.

No he's not an "official" or "historic" philosopher by most texts. He's just a writer with one novel and a narrative podcast under his belt, but he's succeeded in motivating and re-radicalizing me politically even into my 40s. He has ideals, and the wit and skill to make those ideals accessible, palatable, and energizing.

Most popular/beneficial is easy. Yakuza 0. Currently at 19.6 million hits since I wrote it, 3.3 million this year.

Most challenging would probably be... Yakuza 5, as it was the first game for the Like a Dragon series I wrote, so I had to come up with how to present it from scratch. Every other guide in the series is just a variation on that format, so while there's always a challenge to writing it, having the framework is a comfort.

I'm trying to think of other styles of guides (LEGO, Star Wars, DDR) that might have been more difficult to conceptualize, but no, that one was the hardest one.

At least 1000 collectively. Hard to tell though. It's not like I can use in-game clocks, because that's not really accurate. A lot of that time is just the game sitting open and me writing.

See the reason work is boring right now is because I don't actually have a direct "client contact" at the moment. The one who comes up with stuff for me to do, and the one who reviews the stuff I give him. That guy left last month and they're sourcing a new person to take over.

Right now the de facto contact is that guy's boss, who is a nice enough guy, but he's got way too much on his plate to be handling all my stuff. I send him things and they kind disappear to the bottom of his to do pile.

So anyway. Probably taking off by the half hour mark. I did stay a bit late yesterday to do some new hire training.

I got my orientation start date today for my new job. They want 2 forms of Id, I only have my state id and a photocopy of my social security card due to an accident that made me lose the real one some time ago, since then I've been fighting with the SS office to give me a replacement but they say they can't because of some inaccurate information, they won't tell me what this is because it's apparently confidential and they'll get in trouble for it, I even tried to get a replacement online and the same issue popped up, inaccurate information, but I have a photocopy of the card from a previous endeavor front and back, can I use that as my second form of ID in place of the original card? Without it I will not get the job, the e-mail said without it I will be SENT HOME IMMEDIATELY!! written exactly like that.

Maybe you can call and ask them what else might be considered valid ID. Do you have an old ID card from college maybe, or a work badge from somewhere? They might say that the photocopy is fine and you can stop stressing out.

How long do you have before you have to turn it in? Maybe you could look into getting something else in the meantime. I know passports took forever to get last year, but I hear you can have one made pretty quickly now. You could call the post office and ask them how long they typically take now.
