It just wrapped up everything so perfectly, people probably aren't motivated to see more as much. Like they had their fill and the first 10 years of MCU was a complete story.

I dont think it was too final. It was a great finale but marvel comics never began and ended with thanos

I know theres a lot of cosmic events and what not on that earth but you sort of have to ignore half the universe getting erased and brought back. That would cripple society but here everything is back to normal. Maybe needed a dr strange memory spell for that one

It wasnt to final they just didnt shift focus after.

Even if they start making good movies again, Im just not interested. It feels like the MCU was a cool part of a certain era of popular culture.

But Covid and a lot of other things changed our world and that era is over and done with.

The problem is that they started looking a little bit too much like the comics. Now you'll be confused while watching Doctor strange 2 if all you've seen is Doctor strange 1. Movies are constantly dedicating time for their B and C list characters to show up so they can be paraded in front of the audience in the hopes that maybe people will take a liking to them. Without even having an avengers movie it somehow still ends up feeling more like a big marvel event where to get the whole story you have to read comics across five different lines.

Go back to pre-endgame and I feel like, while the properties were still part of a shared universe, they each still had their own identity and you weren't missing giant chunks of the plot if you didn't watch the other properties in the franchise.

Also, I cannot emphasize enough how important the avengers movies were towards advancing the state of the world and advancing plot lines so that the next batch of movies had fresh material to work with.

I just think its simple as popular and unpopular heroes. Theres a reason why Spiderman, Batman and Superman were the poster boys.

I admit im a casual, and i just dont have any interest on Ant man, guardians of galaxy, hawkeye etc. And i barely know any of the DC heroes thats not from the batman universe and superman.

I quite like xmen however but they just kept making mediocre to crap movies for them. Logan was the only good one imo and thats an alternate what-if story i think.

The problem with the MCU for me is...there's not enough. I want MORE and I want it NOW.

The problem is the people that have to obsess over things til the day it dies even when they really dislike it.

cuz nostalgia, rewatching once all the cameo stuff has been seen the plot is fairly thin

The problem with the MCU is bad writing & too much of it. Shoveling out dozens of movies & TV shows in a short amount of time (and abusing the VFX studios) was a dumb idea.

I agree with this. It's the execution of the recent movies, when you have a title like "Multiverse of Madness" and then there's almost no multiverse (or madness) in it.

If all we had to go on was DC Universe films, everybody would think superheroes are a sure way to lose money.

You should probably pick a film that didn't make $900+ million as an example of poor execution.

No Way Home made almost $2B. It's actually one of the highest grossing movies ever.

It's pretty obvious people are starting to get burnt out unless it's something big or exciting. I don't see anything even reaching that for Phase 5/6 outside the Avengers ones.

DC is in an even worse place. Most of their shit will likely flop.

Nostalgia, and the fact that Spider-man has always been the golden boy of Marvel.

The next two Spider man movies were amazing tho.

If they keep making movies like Thor Love and Thunder then yeah rip MCU in a few years. But otherwise they're fine. The new stuff (other than endless quip Love and Thunder) has been alright, people are still too attached to the first few phases and don't like change.

I mean Im looking forward to Kang Dynasty / Secret Wars but thats about it.

Jonathan Majors has been a very compelling Kang so far.
