I also learned that springs are great to attach wheels to for a suspension system.

Too bad the hover bike is so practical that most other types of vehicles are kind of overshadowed.

Land vehicles in this game are so slow and struggle with even small slopes. They need to give us a faster wheel.

Hoverbikes are so fucking busted. I tried to make this huge wing plane with a shit ton of cannons and lasers, but I didn't know that the fucking wings disintegrate after a minute. Why do they even do that?

Yeah they really did the glider specifically dirty with that arbitrary time limit thing. Probably one of the most questionable design decisions they made in the entire game. I'd much rather use the glider with fans than the hoverbike, but it just sucks.

Yeah its definitely annoying. I think they ultimately didnt want any machine that could fly indefinitely, regardless of battery life upgrades or design choices.

The wing designs could easily fly forever, with tons of possibilities.

I get it and I dont. You dont explore nearly as much/thoroughly once you start flying

I recently saw a trick where if you're running out of stamina while air gliding, you can break and then drop a wing glider to land on and recover.

And I saw another trick or you're flying on something and run out of battery, fall for a bit then do recall on your vehicle, then repeat that and you'll recovery battery.

My method is superior, dupe large zonai charges and pop one when needed.

Not getting this game for a while, but watched a bit of it on YouTube to get a feel. Are the teal translucent companions as annoying as they seem? Theyre literally always there, and if you turn them off you also lose key abilities that you would generally want active.

Yes and no.

If you're running around with all of then active, they can be very annoying since they get in the way alot. Mid-combat they can also be frustrating since the melee ones will run up to the enemies, making the one with the ranged focused ability (which is also probably the best ability for combat) frustrating to activate. 2 of them can also make looting frustrating if you're mashing A to loot since their abilities can cause items to scatter.

That said, they're all situational useful and aren't that useful outside of those situations so you won't really be missing much by deactivating.them and only activating them for those situations. The only one I constantly have activated is Tulin, and even then I sometimes deactivate him if I'm not going to need the paraglider for a while or if I'm repairing at Rock Octoroks.

They are probably the least well done system in the game. Like for the most part they aren't terribly annoying and they are good for drawing enemy attention or kill things you don't want to waste your weapons on like Chu Chus. But their powers are just awkward to use. You have to chase them down, press A to activate then use them. All of their powers should have been accessible by using the down arrow as a radial, regardless if they are deployed or not. The Wind Sage's also desperately needs a cancel option. So many things accidentally blown off cliffs.

I just dont like using their power when I dont want to And that happens when looting

the spirits are pretty annoying tbh, especially yunobo who pretty much is always in your way

I was there for a full game day. But its still possible I missed them Ill try again

I only use Tulin. All the others are kept in my pocket.

5th sage is useful for duping on 1.1.1 or lower, instead of having to jump and paraglide you can just get on them and do it

I just shield jump to dupe. Having to fish for the item constantly while gliding sucks. With shield jumping, you'll always have the cursor over the item you're duping.

Regarding the portable cooking pots I believe you can just attach one to your vehicle and cook when your batteries run out and theyll charge in the background.

The only thing that matters is that you pick up the item before duping it again. However you do it doesn't really matter. Then you'll always have the item under the cursor.

It's much faster I agree to dupe this way. Takes way too long to keep looking for the item.

You can pick up materials while on it so you can dupe 5, quickly pick one up so the cursor is back on the right material and repeat. No need to find elevation for paraglider, no need to keep shield jumping over and over and no wearing out shields.

When is a good time to start the four regional quests? So far I have 8 hearts and 2.6 stamina circles thru shrine grinding, the Master Sword, the Hyrulian Shield, Championship tunic, unlocked the whole surface and sky maps, and even got all the Dragon Tears. Is this enough prep?

Also what goes in the last slot on my Purah Pad? I have all the apps including Autobuild.

They should have moved the horse whistle to where the map is currently in the radial menu. No need for the map to be there when you can just bring that up with the - button. Then they could have nicely slotted in the Sage abilities on Dpad down.

You'd still be able to attack with the bow. Melee weapons already have a little homing innately but I can see what you mean.

Still though I do not like dpad solutions. It's fine for the item menus because they pause the game but anything that takes your thumb off the left stick mid combat is just a handicap.

Agree. Ideally I'd want sage powers as conditional/finisher type things. Like A when you're gliding, or charged shield+A, or just a token fuse for the bow (let's say always to the left of the 0th index or something), and so on. Revali's gale was perfect in that sense.

lol yeah, once you get that Wind ability you're going to be kicking yourself not getting it sooner.

I haven't been reading these topics, so I don't know if it's been asked, but do Blood Moons occur a lot more often in TotK as opposed to BotW?

Didn't really affect me, I learned the way of the hover bike early. It is nice to have handy though.

Also if you went to Lost Woods to find out where to get the Master Sword, nothing in those temples will be a problem for you in terms of combat

You're better off if you're actually trying to explore because it kind of ruins the experience. But if you're just trying to get from point A to B, like going from one sky island to another for example, it's great. I have one saved in Autobuild, but I use it sparingly.

Rito is the only power I use nonstop. The rest of them I havent touched since the temples
