Any recent Peanuts stuff attempt to canonize that? I figured that would happen these days, especially after Velma and Bert and Ernie.

... are there any recent Peanuts stuff of any kind since the movie that came out I'm sure a longer time ago than I want to know because time is fleeting.

That was a solid movie I thought. Definitely captured the spirit of the comics.

Reruns, and my occasional checking in on Pearls Before Swine and comparing it to its earlier years has made me have a much better appreciation for Bill Watterson knowing when to call it quits and Charles Schulz for somehow managing to keep Peanuts going for five decades without letting it getting stale.

I thought his estate at one point was producing the comics. They had to have been at one point. I don't know if they still do. Schulz has been dead since 2000. I remember actually being legit sad over that.

Peanuts was my favorite growing up. Anyhow last I looked at the strips in the paper there was just a lot of stuff about Charlie Brown and Snoopy lately. Some of it I thought seemed new-ish.

The Schulz family keeps tight control over the IP and work to make sure no major changes happen to any of the modern adaptations. The most recent being the Apple TV shows.

A former writer spoke about characterizing the two based off his own experiences with his own partner. Sesame Workshop however made a statement afterwards going 'no no no no they're friends and they're puppets, they have no sexual orientation.'

Frog and Toad were confirmed as gay.

turns out Alex Jones may have been right. Something DID turn the frogs gay.

There is a scene where Ernie climbs into Berts bed to eat cookies, because he doesnt want crumbs in his own bed.

People seems to remember a scene where they share a bed (temporary?) and they have the classic "fight over a too small blanket", but no video/photo evidence of this exist.

That's what I was thinking of. I have a sound clip on my laptop of Bert shouting at Ernie that he wished he wouldn't eat cookies in the bed.

What? There's no new comics. If you look at the middle panel, the date should be next to it. For example, the strip in the AZ Republic today was from 1976.

The reason why I said that is because I remember there being a detonation between Classic Peanuts and Peanuts. I thought his family may have approved some newer ones. Not recently but just at one time. I probably should have hit a Wikipedia or something before that comment but meh.

They're literally just "The Odd Couple" in puppet form. Two roommates with diametrically opposed personalities that create amusing conflict.

Did Peanuts really end completely? I thought his estate would continue pumping out comics.

They still run them they just rerun ones from the past. It a was a very long run. Mid 50's till Shultz died in the early 2000's. I wish I could read them all to be honest. I always enjoyed reading them.

To answer your Topic no I did know. Patty is just a tomboy. Marci (i think her name is) is almost blind. I just think Marci just never picked up that Patty is a girl. Patty has a secret crush on Charlie Brown. Nothing more than that.

I should track down the omnibus I was given in the early 90's which I didn't bring with me when I left home. I think I know where it is.

Im pretty sure both Marcy and Patty like Charlie Brown. I thought that was the whole thing with both of them. Patty is just well more known for it.

Peanuts still gets new TV shows and stuff like that. Pretty sure the comics run as Peanuts Classic or something, which are just reruns of the old strips.

Peppermint Patty was never "lesbian" coded. Just a bunch of "not girly" lesbians in real life kind of identified with Peppermint Patty. Or at least that's my guess. She's the least girly character in Peanuts, plays sports and wears a collared shirt and shorts.

Peppermint Patty also had a big crush on Charlie Brown. She wasnt gay.
