I heard this conflicting rumor that Parker and Stone killed off Chef thinking Hayes wouldn't come back after they made fun of Scientology but really he had no problem with it and would have came back. We don't know the exact contents but it did seem to imply he was quitting over scientology. Hayes, who had no idea what the fuck was in the letter said that he quit over health issues and that he supported Parker & Stone's comedy. This made him look like a liar. Hayes dies a year later which makes everyone reexamine the health issues.
