Driving is one of my favorite activities. My father raced and worked on cars, so I was exposed super young. I love working on cars, I love going fast (safely, like on the highway or at a race track.) I love standard 5-7 speed H-gates, I love semi-automatic clutchless sequentials, I love fully automatic cars (especially with a higher stall lock up torque converter.) There is something very meditative about it. Me and the wife used to go on drives to "clear our mind", and even with her recently passing away, I still end up going for drives sometimes as if she was with me. (Maybe she is?)

However, one of my largest character flaws, is impatience with other people while driving. I don't know if it's especially bad where I live, but people will lazily cut you off with no blinker when you are going 55MPH and they are going 15MPH, and then just hang in idle texting on their phone (or just staring into space, old.) If someone uses a blinker, I will go out of my way to let them in... engine brake... friction (pedal) brake... doesn't matter. I'm a courteous driver. But the second some 90 year old almost causes a wreck by crossing 3 lanes of traffic with NO BLINKER and expects me to go from a legal 60MPH to a dangerous 15MPH in bright sunny weather absolutely sets me off. My late wife while here tried to help me let this kind of stuff go, but even sometimes SHE got mad and said ("No, FUCK THIS asshole, light them up, baby.") I end up tearing open my tires and ripping open past these people, swinging my back end around their car all cocky with my finger out of the window once my front end settles back down (my car starts to do a wheelie if I'm not careful.) Then I see it's an old person, and not a young person, and I feel bad... but they just look at me through their window confused... not sure what they did wrong.

I mean this as nice as possible, but not everyone is fucking sight seeing. People have places to go. Please go the speed limit, at least. You don't have to launch hard at a red light, but please, EVENTUALLY, go the speed limit. If you are too terrified of opening your throttle up enough to go 45MPH in a 45MPH zone in sunny weather with no traffic, please let your grandkids drive you around instead and turn in your license. And for the young people especially, get the hell off your phone!!!

Sorry, I'm working really hard on this trait of mine, but after having lost my soul mate and almost dying myself in a wreck a few months ago... I lose my cool seeing people drive dangerously. And ironically end up doing something stupid and dangerous myself from the anger.

Anyone else have advice on dealing with crap drivers? I've noticed music helps a little bit, or having someone ride with me (I like to keep my passengers safe.)

nope but it's annoying when I'm walking on a thin footpath and some people on bikes use the dam footpath well the roads right next to me is clear.

even more stupid if there a bike path right next to you and yet they use the footpath.

I don't let other drivers irritate me too much, might as well be amused at the lack of skill or even basic awareness other people show. I wish that everyone had to serve a two-year apprenticeship on motorcycles before they could qualify for a license to drive a car.

I do get tired of eggplants who slowly creep away from a traffic light, making me slip my clutch until they finally ooze up to first gear speed.

I can't remember the last time I was truly angry at something.

I get annoyed, but almost never angry.

Aaaaaarrrrraaaaaaarrrrrghh!!!!!!!!!

Yup, I hate people who don't freaking turn when they can, who drive 10 miles under the speed limit, who can't figure out how to freaking merge in a round about, who don't pay attention and waste half of a green light before driving through, who can't freaking park and take 10 minutes getting into a spot while everyone behind waits to keep driving and so many other things.

If there were no video games for me to kill zillions of people/creatures etc, I would have gone to jail for mass murder years ago when commuting 2 hours a day.

Video games have saved many lives.
