Why do you hate California, though? Have you been there?

It's a weird state. If you visited only one part of the state, there's several regions of California that are wildly different from other parts. There's deserts, mountains, farmlands, cities, massive sprawl, heavily forested areas, coastal areas... California has a lot to offer depending on what you're looking for. I tend not to like southern Cali, but I love northern Cali. The mountains and the coast especially.

Expensive as fuck to live there, though.

I'd have to think about something I hate. Nothing comes to mind. There's plenty of things I dislike, though...

As a truck driver, I hate when people don't want to be behind my truck, so they'll pass me, but then they'll slow down when they get in front of me, and when I try to pass them, they'll speed up. This happens every single day. Either pass me and keep your fucking foot on the gas, or stay behind me. I guess I like that these people are probably generally good people, who are working and contributing to society and the economy, or maybe just visiting friends and relatives. I like that lives are happening all around me, and I can only imagine what everyone else on the road is up to.

@Far-Queue I have a lot of people that I love in California. But I don't like the government over-reach. Magazine capacity size limits? No detachable magazines for a rifle or carbine? Difficult to get carry permit to protect yourself or loved ones? Extremely strict emission compliance laws? (There are literally vehicle modifications that are perfectly legal in all 49 states, but have to come with a sticker that says "NOT CALIFORNIA COMPLIANT." What's so special and magic about California that it is the only fucking state in the entire country that these devices are illegal? Fuck California.)

And now I hear they are going to tax you based on miles driven? With a device that tracks your every move in your car? I look up what state is proposing it. LMAO!!! IT'S CALIFORNIA GO FIGURE!!!

So, yeah. Probably really beautiful place, and I know a lot of amazing people that live there. But that is way, way too much government over-reach for me.

there's a really bitter older lady at work who treats me pretty poorly. I had thought her my friend and someone I admired for a long time before I realized just how much she despises me and gossips about me. she doesn't miss any opportunity to point out how little she thinks of me. she also lies and does things like imply that things are my mistake when they aren't. she's really a very spiteful hateful bitter person that I wish I never knew. never before has my opinion of someone gone from such a high mark to such a low mark in so short a time.

so, anyway... something good? she's very organized and pretty disciplined and energetic in her work ethic, which is one thing I had always admired about her.

I feel like truck drivers end up being the assholes that they rail against more often than regular drivers do though. I get that sometimes truckers do what they do as precautions to prevent accidents (my stepdad was a trucker for years so I've heard it all) but countless times truckers have sped up significantly just to block me in or not let me over. Y'all need to stop driving with a goddamn chip on your shoulder
