Took quite awhile to be consistently funny, but it reached that point eventually

Rewatched it again after many years, thinking that I was just too immature or didn't "get" it the first time around.

But I still don't really like this movie, at least not to the extent that I am supposed to.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - 8.0

Finished the book, loved it. Wife and I just watched the film. Really liked it, despite some changes that I thought were a bit unnecessary, especially the final scene, which I thought was perfect in the book. Going to be hard, IMHO, for the American films to top this trilogy.

The Art of War - 9/10.

I'm not sure what it is about that movie that makes me love it so much, but I do.

Watched part of The Bow before I went sleep last night also. That one's around 7.5/10. It's pretty good, but the ending is a bit bittersweet, and all of the dialogue comes from the supporting characters.

The Fountain - 8.0

I could write an entire essay on this movie but let's just say that despite it being a bit confusing at times in addition to a few glaring flaws, I feel that they tied the three stories quite nicely and that the movie was simply beautiful.

Not quite as funny as the first, but decent enough. I did like that the girlfriend was more realistically beautiful than "Hollywood pretty". Was a nice change of pace from the norm.

I think the only other film that stressed me out as much as this film did was "Changing Lanes." Very effective thriller. Premise and characters are a bit boring, but if the goal of the film was suspense, it achieved it handily. Very good cast too and some excellent cinematography.

X-Men: First Class - 8.4

Good movie. The performances were strong and the story (for the most part) was pretty well done. Its only (possible) flaw comes from its continuity with previous X-Men movies.
