I... really don't know what would lead to a situation for Milly to grab Shirley's boobs, other than the obvious. But now I'm super curious. Thanks a lot. We get to see stupid s*** like them dressing up like cats but you leave THIS a mystery? F*** you, Makers of Code Geass.

And people wonder why I think Milly is gay.

They are watching Lelouch very closely, which is why he needed a body double. Don't forget that his sister is indirectly being held hostage.

You'll hate most of ep 12, but the end is great and the plot picks up a bit from there.

Yet they failed to notice that Lelouch is suddenly super-nice to everyone? Not to mention the fact that the people that were watching Lelouch closely have all been Geassed.

The primary concern is Suzaku. But he isn't there all the time and most likely already thinks memory-wiped Lelouch is just a nicer guy than the person that forced his girlfriend to commit genocide to prolong a war.

The cliif-endings about here were the best in the series imo
"say...Lulu...zero's a friend to the weak..isn't he? then...why did he kill my dad?" in episode 12
The ending of episode 13 when she realize that Zero is Lelouch
The ending of episode 14 "Did you lose a family member as well?"
-"No....a friend"

Aaaaaaaaaaaand finally episodes 12 and 13 of R2 but you are not there yet so I won't spoil
But for me the ending in episode 12 was enough to leave a good taste in my mouth after 19 minutes of pure filler

Season 2 Turn 12

Lelouch finds out what the maid has been up to.

Lelouch isn't too upset, Rolo is pretty freaked out.

Oh, and the maid set up 108 dates. OK, this is the stupidest moment in Code Geass history.

Shirley and Milly naked. Butt shots, too. I feel really pervy right now.

Shirley is pissed now that she knows Lelouch is a Pimp Daddy. Or rather the maid is Pimping it up. Ugh.

MONTAGE! Maid telling us exactly what we see is happening. Thank you, I'm stupid.

Shirley is upset. Lelouch tries to escape. Anya stops him. Oh s***! Picture of Lelouch as a member of the royal family! Busted!

"Lelouch is too frail." Rolo wants to stick it in Lelouch. It's pretty obvious at this point.

Shirley yelling at Lelouch. Milly has an ass on her head. OK, we have a new stupidest moment.

Cupid Day? If you steal the hat of another person, you get to have sex with them by order of the student council! OK, so not sex but you're declared an official couple? I. Am. Going. To. Hate. This. SOOOOOOOOOO. Much.

Bunch of Britainnias talking amongst themselves. Exposition, exposition, exposition.

Huh, Cornelia is still missing. Britainnia going after Chinese territory. Good plan right there, just need the approval of the Emperor.

Knight of One has his eye shut. "War has historically been an action favored by idiots."

CORNELIA!

Meeting time! This is boring and stupid.

You know, Gillford shares the same voice as Ezio and Sonic the Hedgehog? Now you know.

Kallen is OK, and here somes Nunally!

Lelouch still dealing with that idiot maid's decisions. I really, really hate this episode so far.

Oh hey, they mention the fact that Shirley tried to MURDER Viletta.

Milly starting Cupid Day. More like STUPID Day. Really f***ing stupid day.

Shirley and Rivalz thinking to themselves. Stupidly. Like, has Rivalz ever been important to a storyline? Is his crush on Milly have any f***ing point? No. It does not. Just like this episode.

Lelouch and Rolo alone in an enclosed environment. This should prove interesting.

Meanwhile, at Camp Geass! Cornelia trying to find out what the hell is going on, whereas fat-f*** just wants to go home.

MORE WHACKINESS! Lelouch figures out that the Gino and Anya are pretty much harmless based on their actions, thus rendering the whole plot twist of the last episode completely pointless!

Some girl just stole Lelouch hat. Lelouch responds by giving her permanent brain damage, I mean Geassing her into returning the hat. Just in case you forgot he had that ability!

Heh, the cat has two butts on his head.

And the maid is hopping around like a ninja. "Watch what you have me say, or I'll come as being kinda mental." Uh, Lelouch? Pretty sure you ARE mental. You want to destroy the whole damn world for your little sister.

Hey, if one of the guys takes his hat, do they have to be boyfriend and boyfriend? You have to turn gay because Milly said so dammit!

Half-naked women will not stop Maidlouch!

Rivalz shut the f*** up.

And now Anya is running around in the Mordred? For the love of f***, Code Geass. Stop. Just... stop.

Twin Lelouch's?

"This is wrong?" Anya was born without common sense.

Now Shirley asking for Lelouch's explanation for kissing her. Wait, is Shirley implying they should have casual sex?

I just realized that Shirley has giant eyes.

Ah, I see what you did here, Code Geass. Remove Kallen from Lelouch's life to explore the nature of Shirley and Lelouch's relationship. I wonder how far it will go, as Kallen looks to be tied up for a while.

Everyone thanking Milly! Awwwwww die in a fire, please. Now she's a weather reporter? That was a quick transition.

She called off her engagement to Lloyd? What a b****! Lloyd is the best character in Code Geass! F*** you! I hope this is the end of the Student Council forever!

Jeremiah just used a "Geass Canceller" huh. Looks like he's going directly after Lelouch. Oh, this might just make all this crap worth it! Well, not really.

Oh, and now Shirley remembers everything. So we're going to repeat yet another season 1 storyline! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I really, really don't like this episode. I think it's probably the worst episode in season 2, maybe in the history of Code Geass. I just don't give a s*** about the Student Council. I don't care about Milly overcoming whatever the f*** she was having problems with. I don't care about Rivalz pointless crush on Milly that goes nowhere. And I am really tired of Shirley especially since it's the THIRD time she's had the revelation that Lelouch = Zero. It's a really tired act. The "wacky" antics come off as forced so badly and none of it is particularly entertaining. Having to sit through that crap, ugh, at the very least the ending has a great set-up for the next episode. Not the Shirley storyline again, but rather having Jeremiah finally get to confront Lelouch after being humiliated by him multiple times. Also, good to see Cornelia back and seemingly working on her own. Especially since how Pro-Britannia she was for most of the series, now she's just after the truth, so I hope to see how that develops. And I do wonder how long Kallen will be held captive. There really hasn't been any conscious effort to go after her by Lelouch or the Black Knights. Could be interesting fallout for when/if she's rescued.

But seriously, this episode blew. Like, I swear to God I would quit watching forever if it wasn't for the fact that it had a good ending.

Is it just me,or the writers did a pretty bad job with Shirley falling in love with Lelouch for the second time?
The problem was not the fact that she fall in love with him again, but how sudden and without any hints it happened
In one episode she is indifferent about him,and in the next episode she is blushing and feeling embarrassed about her feelings for him

I mean, what? it was not so obvious that she will love him again,so at least show how she is developing her feelings
(although it means more filler and im not sure TheRock will like it!)

Is it just me,or the writers did a pretty bad job with Shirley falling in love with Lelouch for the second time?

The problem was that there shouldn't have been a second time. The logical conclusion for the Shirley/Lelouch relationship should have ended in the first season.

See, when Shirley's father was killed by Lelouch's actions, this was a great opportunity for character development for both characters. Shirley was faced with two horrors: the loss of her father, and dealing with the fact that the man she's in love with is responsible for it. You see how torn she is by it, and you see how she even contradicts herself. She attempts to kill Viletta to protect Lelouch, only for moments later to attempt to kill Lelouch in order for them to "atone for their sins." The poor girl was put through the ringer is a very short period of time, which would cause any sort of nervous breakdown, and Shirley was slowly descending into madness over the events until the ultimate confrontation with Lelouch.

The problem was that the resolution was completely unsatisfactory and incredibly short-sighted. Shirley as a character before the events of her father's death was gone. She was a broken human being. There was a well of opportunity to work with moving forward, or at the very least there needed to be a permanent resolution to everything for her and Lelouch. What we got was Shirley getting set back to her default personality, save she doesn't remember Lelouch. That's right, all this work and character development, only to restore the status quo for her.

And like I said earlier, it's so incredibly short-sighted by Lelouch. So you're going to Geass her to forget you, and then convince EVERYONE that she's mad at you and just pretending to not know you. Because no one is going to confront her about this and confuse the girl even more? Because everyone is just going to play along like nothing's wrong? Hell, Rivalz even calls her out on how ridiculous it is and she just stares confusingly (and this is right after she finds the note about Lelouch being Zero, etc.) If you're going to Geass her, how about you Geass her to forget you and, I don't know, MOVE AWAY. Seems like you can actually give complex orders while under the effect of Geass, why not her? Hell, it would make the ending more tragic or at the very least carry some weight to it. Lelouch's only solution to protect Shirley was to completely remove her from his life. Lelouch would not only no longer play any part in her life, but wouldn't even be a fond memory of her past. Or hell, GEASS HER TO FORGET THAT LELOUCH IS ZERO! At least that would then make sense to return Shirley to the status-quo, because the one thing that made her completely lose it was the fact that Lelouch was Zero. That was her mental breaking point. Remove that attribute and it makes sense for her to return to her default personality.

But back on track here: there was three acceptable scenarios in my opinion:

1. Shirley died. Simply put, Shirley was too broken a human being at that point. She had lost her father, the one man she loves is responsible, and she just murdered someone herself. There was no turning back. She was done. Personally, I liked this route because it represents both the loss of innocence and consequences of Lelouch's actions. Lelouch's goal is to destroy the world and rebuild it for Nunally. Yet in the process, he often loses sight of the fact that what his doing is also destroying innocent people. And having it be someone very close to him. Of course, this is the same guy who accidentally Geass'd Euphy into murdering a bunch of Japanese, and after a little bit of angsting, decided "F*** it, let's use this to our advantage." So I don't think Lulu would have any real regrets. But it'd be pretty good character development to hang over him for a while, and it might even explain why he deals with Euphy relatively calmly (he's spent time hardening himself since Shirley's death).

2. One of the two scenarios described above. At least then returning to the status quo would make sense rather than the crap we got.

3. Shirley actually becomes a completely different person. To reflect what she's been through and how broken she's become, Shirley becoming a new character makes a lot of sense. What type of character, I don't know really. Perhaps she actually becomes an enemy of the Black Knights and Zero.

Rant over.

Season 2 Turn 13

Shirley having a ridiculous nightmare. Everyone is wearing masks! "How dare you shoot me?" OK, not exactly how I'd talk to someone who tried to murder me.

This is some interesting symbolism going on, isn't it?

FLASHBACKED!

New opening music! Eh, I liked the music for the first half of the season a lot more. Might have been my favorite of the series. PEOPLE ARE FLYING AT THE SCREEN!

Looks like the Black Knights are taking over. Poor Tamaki, he's only rated 40 and everyone else is above 200 or something.

Rolo/Lelouch interactions are so creepy.

Shirley reflecting on everything she's "relearned." This poor girl is going to snap again.

Lelouch and Shirley at the same mall. And Suzaku shows up, too.

Viletta, your skirt is too tight. Your ass-crack is highly visible.

JEREMIAH MOTHERF***ING GOTTWALD! And he's got giant swords shooting out of his arms. Looks like the Maid is going to take him on.

Cornelia is in Camp Geass. Cornelia's an atheist, apparently.

Oh s***! Cornelia just threw a dagger into V2's head! He's OK, though. And him and the Emperor there vowed to kill God. You know, my brother and I made the same vow. Except it was less "kill God" and more "go fishing" but it's the same basic thing.

"It won't impede Jeremiah Gottwald!" You know he's a badass when he speaks in third person.

Rolo tries to help, the Geass Canceller denies him. Viletta steps in to reveal Lelouch's current location. You know, this is shaping up to be a very good episode. I like how they didn't wait to show off how badass Jeremiah Gottwald is.

Shirley, Lelouch, and Suzaku just walking silently with each other. Each revealing their thoughts, everyone suspicious of each other.

Whoa, Viletta is actually going to help Lelouch? You dare betray Jeremiah Gottwald! You whore!

Shirley thinks they're working together so she decides to... commit suicide? Oh no, she's just clumsy. Per usual.

"Let me go! Let me go!" You crazy f***ing b****.

"I don't want to lose anyone else!" This is definitely foreshadowing.

Wait, so what is going on with Shirley? She knows everything again. She was just trying to kill herself and now everythings hunky-dory? OK, then.

Lelouch is prepared, as usual.

Shirley and Suzaku talking. Interesting that they're talking to each other, and they know everything. "I forgave him." So... is that about her dad's death? Pretty vague here.

Suzaku taking charge!

Black Knights meeting! Tamaki aww yeah.

Ohgi and Viletta talking to each other! oh man.

Shirley runs in the building. Oh God, Jeremiah Gottwald is going to kill her. I guarantee it.

Shirley grabs a gun.

Jeremiah Gottwald has finally cornered Lelouch, but it was all part of the plan. He uses that whats-it-called to stop Jeremiah Gottwald from moving. You know, you think he's gotta be pretty pissed about continually getting owned by Lelouch.

Rolo runs into Shirley. "Do you truly love Lulu?" Is the sky blue? This kid pretty much wants to marry Lelouch at this point.

Jeremiah Gottwald is such a badass, not even being frozen stops him! Makes him bleed, though. Seriously, I love this guy. If he dies here, I'm going to flip.

Jeremiah Gottwald is now asking Lelouch why he decided to become Zero and turned against Britannia. Lelouch reveals who he really is, and why he did what he did, and Jeremiah Gottwald... was there? He was guarding... Lelouch's mother?

What.

What.

No. Seriously, what. I... have nothing. This has got to be the most ridiculous plot twist in the series. Lelouch, how did you not notice that Jeremiah Gottwald was one of the guards assigned to your mother? Jeremiah, how the f*** did you not know that Lelouch was the same Lelouch that you protected?

COME ON! Jeremiah Gottwald was set up to be a great recurring villain! He was personally humiliated by Lelouch several times, and his personal vendetta could have carried this for several episodes! And now he's revealed to have been an ally all along? Or that he should have been? Shame on you, Code Geass. Shame on your for wasting such a great plot point with this stupid plot twist. F*** you sideways with a rusty shovel.

And now he's dead. Whatever. You ruined him anyways.

Guess he's not dead. Whatever. You ruined him anyways.

Shirley and Rolo continue their pissing match of who loves Lelouch the most. Shirley wants to help Lelouch. However, she mentions Nunally, which causes Rolo to active his Geass. Another falling mask.

Lelouch finds Shirley laid out on the floor. She's been shot.

Oh. This is not good.

Shirley reveals that she felt the whole world is spying on her. Shirley giving off a helluva dying speech. Lelouch tries to Geass her into living. "I order you not to die!" I don't think that'll work. Shirley talks about how she's keep falling in love with him over and over no matter how many times she's "reborn." What an odd thing to say, really. Pretty sure this is it for you, honey. You ain't coming back again.

And then she dies. And Lelouch is overcome with grief. And it's almost as if what I wanted to happen in season 1 has finally happened. Hooray, I guess.

OK, other than how completely awful the Jeremiah Gottwald Plot Twist was, this was a very good episode. A good action sequence towards the beginning, good character interaction that didn't require ridiculous filler crap like the student council, and a very good ending, especially with Shirley's final words. Shirley's death was a pretty good moment, though not as good as Euphemia's (mainly because Euphy's had more weight to it due to the events leading up to it). And I like that Rolo finally crossed that moral event horizon and did something that Lelouch will never forgive him for. I can't wait to see how they confront each other. I am actually a little sad to see Shirley go, even though I stated that I felt her death in season 1 would have made sense. But I'm glad the character actually got a pretty dignified death, all things considered. And I love the added weight this should put on Lelouch going forward, and I wonder how this will affect how he treats C2 and Kallen moving forward.

And I'll be honest, I still love Jeremiah Gottwald, even if they ruined him. Hopefully he sticks around and does more Jeremiah Gottwaldy things.

You ruined him anyways.

JEREMIAH'S STORM OF LOYALTY CAN NEVER BE RUINED!

But yes, he will continue to do Jeremiah-y things.

... Except for next episode. That's an exception. They kinda just needed to shoehorn him in somehow and he does one awesome, but clearly just shoehorned in thing. But most of the other episodes he appears in he'll do something awesome.

Phase posted...
For instance, a fun game to engage in while you're watching is to guess which characters that get killed actually stay dead.

Also, this is a good activity to revisit at this point now that the season is trainwrecking.

I'm still bummed by the theme change. I really liked the opening theme for the first half of this season.

OK, so this is something interesting.

I apparently did not watch an episode of season 1. Episode 19 to be exact.

Which was actually a pretty important episode, to be honest. It explains:

A) Why Suzaku knows Kallen's loyalty to the Black Knights
B) Why Euphy knew the real identity of Zero
C) That Lelouch Geassed Suzaku to live

Now, see, the biggest thing about C was that when I watched episodes going forward, it always felt that it was simply implied that Suzaku was Geassed, never actually shown. And I spent quite a few episodes wondering why they never outright showed what happened. It changes my perspective on a couple things. During episode 20, when Suzaku's eyes flash red, that was the first hint of Suzaku being Geassed. And I kinda liked it that way. It felt like it was going to be a slow reveal, with obvious implications of what actually happened, but only fully revealed at the most opportune moment.

Also, it's strange now that Kallen and Suzaku spend a large part of the episode interacting about how each one is wrong, yet when they're at school Suzaku says he's going to let things go and try to convince her peacefully. Before hand, I simply believed that when Kallen runs out trying to stop Suzaku from getting himself and Lelouch killed, Suzaku overheard what Kallen said, and there was no real time for interaction. Hence, any dialogue at school was the first time they spoke privately since the incident. I think I liked not knowing the spent an entire episode yelling at each other first, but oh well.

Euphy/Lelouch wasn't as important, though it explains why she speaks about Zero as Lelouch. Of course, I always assumed she knew it was Lelouch from the hotel, but I guess it makes much more sense for her to be so certain of it after actually seeing his face.

It also introduced stuff like the Thought Elevator and a brief glimpse of V2.

So yeah, this episode changed my view on a few events, though the overall story doesn't change much.

Yeah, thats a very important episode. It set up the Euphy stuff at the end of Season 1, and Suzaku being Geassed is important as well. Also its was Schnizel's introduction and when they acquired Gawain.

Coincidentally, you watched the ep at the perfect time, since the next ep deals with V2.
