I loved Opus
Wooooo! Free points! Can I trade them in for a free vig shot or something in your next game? =)
I loved Bloom County too - it was so good in its prime. Best strip on the funny pages until Calvin and Hobbes came along. Certain story arcs still make me laugh just thinking about them - Steve going to his high school reunion with half his face paralyzed from the dentist, Steve suing Santa Claus, Bill and Opus running for president and finding they barely lead a cucumber in the polls, the ultra-addictive Cat Sweat Hair Tonic. When Breathed was on he was brilliant.

Don't stress over it. Just make sure you totally rewrite your claim next time - remember you can always ask the host to check it before you do. :)

What, you don't trust me? (don't answer that)

Speaking of, W/L is dumb. neon is something like 2-2348 and he's one of the best guys we have.
Hey, I was kinda buoyant towards the end! <_<

I understand why you say this, but I'm sure as hell glad it didn't work out that way, personally. If I was Modkilled and day ended, scum probably wins that game immediately because they then target Inviso/Pesci and Dowolf isn't lynched, meaning instead of congratulating Atma and scum for a hard-fought victory, everyone would have been blaming me for wasting their time. I would have been personally and directly responsible for Town's loss, would've taken it quite hard and probably would have sworn off future Mafia games.
Again, I understand the logic that Modkills should hurt the guy's team, but damn, given it actually was by your admission a fairly innocuous mistake, can you even imagine (I really don't want to)

Well, we were pretty pissed about it, since we didn't know Invisci were lovers. If they weren't lovers, the only ways we could get victory were...
1) Lynch Death before Regaro dies, and use the Paralyzer to win 2) Use the Paralyzer on someone, get them modkilled, then mislynch Death.
So yeah, we were upset about things. We were already limited in our options (we HAD to get both you and death mislynched to win prior to your modkill) due to how much of town would be confirmed after dowolf flipped, and your modkill just tightened the noose on us.
But yes, all things considered, this was probably the best ending. >_>

No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.
Ulti was actually probably the one in the worst position. One decision would've appeared to cause scum to lose the game, in such a way that the scumboards would be livid, whereas the other decision would've actually led town to lose the game, and would have punished a new B8 player who was trying hard.
I don't envy him for that.
Still, I really don't want to imagine a world where Inviso would've had every right to blame me for wasting weeks of her time Her fury would've been immense
(Although ironically, folks like Plum would have the far greater grievance. Inviso would've mislynched me anyway, so she probably would've have lost the game whether or not I was Modkilled. Plum apparently thought I was obv-town, so he'd actually perceive himself of having a legitimate chance of winning if I wasn't Modkilled.)

But it's a lesson learned. Next time, I remember to consult someone.
So if you had a time-machine you would have ended the day after MKing me, eh? What would you have done to prevent me from jumping off the Francis Scott Key bridge after the entire GoW town sent me death threats? =(

The problem is that I pretty much put the final nail into Town's coffin unless a miracle occurs
*checks game*
'oh'
Well, you still shouldn't beat yourself up over it. Newbie games are for players to learn - just chalk it up to a rookie mistake and know that you'll always remember how to properly claim from now on.
And, you never know, miracles do happen sometimes. :)

Hey Ace, stop having a persecution complex when no one is mad at you.
I am mad at myself. =/
And my point is, no one is mad at me because of the choice you made -- if my Modkill actually ended the game, everyone's perception would be completely different and I would be justifiably persecuted

Well it's really up to the hosts discretion. You don't ever want a modkill to benefit the players team, but it's really unfair if an absolutely dreadful player signs up that isn't even taking the game seriously and gets himself modkilled by being dumb. The town just lost a player and also lost the whole day, which can be very bad for them.
In Newbie 8 for example, Murnane got himself modkilled in a stupid way and the host decided to keep the day going because that would just have been totally unfair to town to just end the day on that.

Bible and Newbie n are going on now, next is FF7 and maybe a smaller game. (Which Mant is happy about because his game won't have to get skipped over <_<.)
