Does anyone here sometimes find the Fettbox unaccessible? I can't load the page for some reason. I think this happened to me before too.

From: Panthera | #399 I skipped to the part where he posted all the roles. That looks like a convoluted mess.
that's not even half the reason it's DNE
read it through a bit if you get the time.
From: Jmast7 | #395 Oh, and I suppose it's worth asking other hosts - in games with a SK, how do you write the win conditions for both the scum team and the SK?
I suppose I could go look this up on the Fettbox and such, but I'm working on a presentation for tomorrow. Working hard, as you can clearly see. <_<
I use "You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated, or when such a thing becomes inevitable." for scum (Town counts as a threat, obv) and for Kinzo, I used "You win by being the last person alive in the entire game"
From: VeryInsane | #406 Also, wasn't it run by the other edwards?
yeah
fundamentally, there was nothing wrong with it (Except maybe loltraitor), but it wasn't archived and is basically totally forgotten by most people except for "Chris/Blade/Spiral/Not Dave/Maybe somebody I'm forgetting except Sensi roll town"
SpeedYoshi posted... From: eaedwards6400 | #378 I feel like we need a wiki or something on our rules and roles. Because ulti told me about the normal revenger role having a revenger kill post death. I never heard of a revenger role when i made cloud a revenger. In all honestly if it were used in other games it would prolly be better named hunter. But anyways with this and the detective issue i just think we need something that is more based off the things we used. idk what your revenger role is, but utli's sounds like a vengeful townie (who if lynched gets to kill someone)
I made up two roles for FF7.
Cloud was TOWN Revenger. Every night he would scan for Sephiroth(SK) and if he found him he would kill him.
Tseng was MAFIA Enabler. As long as this role was alive the GF was BP.
IIRC, I came up with the revenger role for Cloud when I was randomly mucking around with an FF7 setup of my own, and I mentioned it to eaed when he was brainstorming ideas for his setup. I've never heard of "revenger" being used as a role name before (and was surprised to hear Ulti saying that we were doing it wrong). It was intended as a custom role.
As for the enabler, I think that was my idea too -- in my setup it was Dark Nation protecting Rufus (you know, because he casts Barrier on him during the fight). Enabler is a real role, but its specs vary from game to game depending on the composition of the mafia team. I've seen one version where the enabler allows an ally to use an extra ability (so maybe the roleblocker can use two roleblocks that night). I've also seen a version where the enabler's death causes one or more of his buddies to lose their night action permanently. I don't think it's a common enough role to have a standardized version.

Scum Enabler should definitely not be of the "Permanently lose night action upon death" variety, because that ties what will likely be a key scum action to two players instead of just one.
That's all balancing issues. Maybe the ability is good enough that you're supposed to take that into account, or something. You can't really say "never do this" or "always do this"

Oh, and my site's been down for a while (it got randomly suspended for no reason that I can tell), but I'll repost the DNE stuff tonight in a pastebin or something if anyone is interested.
It was a pretty amazing game, for various definitions of amazing.

Yes, please! :)
Also, I'll probably be throwing up signups for 80's Saturday Morning Cartoon Mafia at some point tomorrow with an estimated start date of either Tuesday or Friday next week, depending on the number of signups.
I also need another co-host. Peaf and I both have busier schedules than we anticipated, but I might be changing jobs in a couple months so it's now or never for me. Just basically want a third set of eyes to make sure votals stay updated and to alert me to any issues that may arise. Think of it as an IO you have to (slightly) work for. Post if interested. First come, first serve. =)

Even if you can't be around until Wednesday, Arti, that will be OK. I'm actually more worried about my schedule two weeks from now than I am next week. =)
I'll send you the setup and my notes on it in the next day or two. PM me an e-mail I can send them to. And thanks! :)

^^^ OH GOD YOU'RE RIGHT! I'M SO SORRY FOR NOT CREDITING YOU PROPERLY!
Okay. SO I'm at football camp for school so I'm going to have to take a break from mafia. I'll be back before too long. Good luck to everyone that's play. And thanks for the praise and or criticism from FF7.
Jebus, this hadn't been updated in a while. I think I got everything, but there were about eight pages to scan through. o_O
MWIS - Is Game of Thrones ready for the queue?
And remember, FFD released his claim to Dr. Horrible and Inception, two themes that really, really need to get made. <_<

Hmm, I would have thought a style of game of that ilk would have needed more players than that. Like, 16/32 if I understand it correctly.
Then again, I'm imagining it as two players per role, but if one dies, they both die, kind of like Lovers. Otherwise the whole concept is very slanted towards the mafia.

You've got the right idea, as far as how I'm going to plan on running it. I feel like letting it get any bigger than that would be bad, though, because big games (Even, or maybe especially artificially big like this) pose a lot of challenges and I'm not sure our playerbase would be able to sustain that, especially considering inactivity.
I guess inactivity is less of an issue because you've got two players, and the one can do the two's work rather simply, but it defeats the purpose.
(Yeah, scum has twice as many people to hunt for power in a setup like this, but town has twice as many people to hunt for scum, which I feel is a far bigger boon)
I thought the whole point of this was an interesting way around combating inactivity >_>
And I say it's in favour of scum, simply because power roles are far more important to them than they are to the town. If two players have to die before scum loses use of it's Roleblocker, that's absolutely massive for them. If it wasn't running on the Lover style system I mean.
