You have no idea how it hard it was to resist putting "TheKoolAidTranny" in the topic title.

So...what you guys playing? I'm excited for Ms. Splosion Man tomorrow, and I STILL need to play Outland, so its downloadable platformer week for me.

They're awesome, that's how.

Fighting Gigas and the Armada in ship battles, great atmosphere in those things.

played the Catherine demo today. liked that more than I thought. I think the most surprising things were a.) that it was basically 2d gameplay (and thus sucks on a 360 controller) and b.) that it feels like a PS2 game. the game it reminded me of, somehow, was Xenosaga. something about the scene transitions and the feeling of it. it's pretty much nothing like Xenosaga in any way. it's probably just because it's a cutscene-driven japanese game.

I play HMH when I get some free time, but I've kinda stalled on it. ultimately it's a less fun version of the PSP version unless you get crazy competitive about it. and then the 360 controller issues come into play bigtime. still, awesome game for $10.

haven't played DQ6 since I moved but I might start it up again soon. I got a flying bed or something and kinda stalled out. I'm on Spiegelspire right now.

I'll wait on Ms. Splosion Man despite it getting totally awesome reviews. that'll be a game to play in the fall months when there's nothing but blockbusters. XBLA's packed right now.

Ya know, hearing about EA closing down online servers for 2010 sport titles makes me sad. I don't own any of the game, but its like "oh you didn't the new annual release? F*** you, buddy". I just hopped on Perfect Dark Zero for the first time in 6 years, to see if (a) online would work and if (b) humans were still online.

Sure enough. 2 or 3 rooms with a couple people and a bunch of bots playing. People still play these old ass games, hell Counter-Strike is still one of the most played online games on Steam, and that came out 1999. I mean, if we're going to an all-digital future(which all signs are pointing towards for more and more forms of entertainment), I sure hope I still have the option to go back and play some older titles online if I and other parties are interested.

This is something else - FF Versus XIII is still in pre-production five years since being announced. What a total disaster this project has become.

"Moving on to a general development update, Nomura siad that because they're trying out a lot of new challenges, the development staff is still focused on the core members. However, they're making preparations to enter full production."

Playing through FFVII with the goal to finally beat Emerald Weapon. This will be my...third playthrough, I think, with the second one ending at Ruby because I missed my chance to get the Underwater materia. At least, I think you only have one chance to get it.

Otherwise, I have a ton of games that I'm at different points in. UC3 beta is great times, though, so that's probably what I'm playing other than FFVII for the most part.

Oh yeah, I'm also getting Portal 2 from gamefly so I'll be getting to that, finally.

playing Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on the PSP while going through classic PS JRPGS i missed and i may not get juggling enemies correctly, it's been fun messing around with the combinations

if only the plot was more compelling besides RECRUIT THIS GUY MAKE HIM STRONGER SEND HIM TO ASGARD

then there's also Mass Effect where even though the sidequests are wearing thin (same buildings, same corridors, same objectives), the universe the game built is just so intriguing and the geek in me loved reading every codex entry and all of the planets' details

i think i'm about 3/5 of the way through with only Virmire left to explore before retracing my steps to find Sarren

it's kinda disappointing how the story and the backstories are pretty intriguing but the main villain isn't all that with how incredibly little screen time he's getting!

Beating Emerald isn't really that hard, beating Ruby is harder since it requires a lot of luck and/or just abusing Mime/KoTR which is boring and doesn't require much skill. Emerald on the other hand can be beaten in a true battle sense if you've prepared well.

Best of luck, I've beaten that damn game way too many times... prolly 6-7

This was posted in another topic here, but it's worth posting again - Sony is investing $20 million, over three years, into the development of PSN games that are "innovative, interesting, and artistic."

"We continually strive to make PlayStation Network the most innovative console game and entertainment service and that’s why we’re thrilled to announce a three-year, $20 million dollar investment plan to develop PSN exclusive games. Our line of PSN exclusives has had great success with titles such as Joe Danger, Critter Crunch, Flower and the PixelJunk series, and we’re excited to add new and different game experiences to this portfolio of games that can’t be found on any other game console. This investment includes support across both our own network of first-party studios as well as for the Pub Fund, which was first introduced at GDC in 2009."

Good, because I'm tired of having to and buy Microsoft points and plugging up the 360 to play all the good XBLA releases like Earthworm Jim HD, Limbo, Mr./Ms. Splosion Man, new Guardian Heroes, Bastion, etc. And I like big companies embracing original, innovative IPs for their digital platforms. Tranny will be pleased.

Three games are already in development from this (Papo & Yo, Okabu, and Eufloria), but yeah, considering these are PSN developed games, I don't think it's necessarily limited to a particular platform. You'll probably be able to get these games on Vita, PS3, and in the future, PS4.

I haven't seen anything from PSN that looks particularly interesting so far. unique, yes, but fun? Sound Shapes is the closest thing and that's more about the unique idea than some fun gameplay concept. I'd like to see a game like Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet on that service.
