I was gonna wait for the trade, but I didn't know the ebook was released the same day as the hardcover. Pretty rare for big books to do that! $10 is a much better price than $25-35 for a gigantic hardcover.

Now I have to decide if I'm going to reread the books before reading this one.

well i need to reread affc because all i remember from that book is blood oranges making a mess on the balcony in dorne

but the stupid 1-4 boxed set on the nook is a single ebook that mashes them all into a 3496-page monstrosity so i kinda have to push through em all

i should have reread the books last winter when I had the time. now... I don't know if I remember liking the prose enough to read 3000+ pages

might as well finish season one of game of thrones and make my decision then

you should definitely wait it out. you'll be able to pick up the hardcover for like $7 in a year when the market is oversaturated with them and the publisher has moved on to pushing the trade paperback.

i should mention that each "page" in the nook is 4 screens at the default font size

so that means to get through to dance with dragons, i need to push that next page button 14,000 times

Oh cool. I did want the hardcover so I'm glad I know how the book market works. I mean I haven't bought a book since the last Harry Potter!
