(More of the same and as bad as usual. IMO, IMO.)

Scenario: Daisuke Watanabe
(SE's resident go-to guy for fleshing out scripts this past several years. Remarkably, he's worked on the dialogue for both XII and XIII, so as you can see his 'flavor' just kind of shifts depending on the scenario. Expect it to taste like XIII again this time, no doubt.)

Story Advisor: Jun Eishima
(As far as I'm aware, this guy just wrote those prequel novella things for FFXIII. He's probably not going to have much input here either.)

Main Programmer: Yoshiki Kashitani
(A programmer involved in the production of Vagrant Story, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XIII. Pretty, uh, diverse trio right there.)

Battle Director: Yusuke Matsui
(Battle programmer for Dirge of Cerberus. Lead battle programmer for FFXIII. Moved up, at least.)

Art Director: Isamu Kamikokuryo
(This guy was the art director from the first game. Surprise, surprise.)

Character Designer: Tetsuya Nomura
(If he needs an introduction then you probably aren't still reading this topic.)

Movie Director: Kazuyuki Ikumori, Hiroshi Kamohara
(More of the same, I believe.)

Composer: Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta, Mitsuto Suzuki
(Mizuta used to work for Capcom but joined SE a while back. He's composed music for Parasite Eve, most notably. Suzuki did a little bit for FFXIII and Dissidia.)

Sounds like it's just the same crew that did XIII for the most part -- not that anyone would have expected otherwise. Still, worth noting for the hell of it.

I'm actually in agreement with you concerning XIII-2. I have no intent to buy it. Unfortunately, my girlfriend will be buying it so I'll end up at least watching the game.

I just don't like Square in general anymore. I'd be interested in another Valkyrie Profile, or the next Star Ocean, but who counts those as Square? Actually, Vs. 13 looks pretty cool from what I've seen (surprisingly), but that's probably never coming out.

Versus XIII looks better than anything else on their horizon and has been that way for more than five years "in the making" at this point. Nevertheless, I have avoided ever posting more than a few times when so-called updates arrive on its board because I really do not trust Square's writing capabilities at all anymore so I'll be damned if I fall for its endless hype train.

I haven't played Star Ocean 4 but after my relatively tepid reception to the third installment and from what I've heard 4 being kind of a trainwreck I don't really think about the series much anymore. I sort of view Star Ocean 2 as its own thing, practically.

Valkyrie Profile is good.

Really enjoyed SO3 despite issues I have with it. Haven't played 4, but I'm sure I'd get some fun out of it.

And man, I just wouldn't be myself if I didn't find the time to post in an FF13 related topic.
