I figured, if you haven't logged into an account in the past 6 months to 2 years (the amount of time determined by certain factors), you probably weren't really putting much use into it anyway.

Yeah, absolutely nobody keeps "public" accounts in case they gotta post from a less-than-ideal location. You know, the kind of account that would be self-defeating if you logged into it frequently at home.

So when's KH3, I mean, the next contest gonna start?

On the GameFAQs front, I have a meeting today with some of the folks over at the community side of GameSpot. We're going to talk about the Terms of Use, in particular about loosening up a few of the rules that are currently enforced too harshly. It's just talking for now, so no guarantee on a timeframe for this.

why not just wipe passwords

Also be careful about checking old accounts, it'll accrue failed logins and you'll be stuck entering captchas to login
