The nomination was shortened to fit in the topic title. Original wording: By finding and killing Osama Bin Laden, Obama has now assured his reelection in 2012
This AoD is brought to you by UltimaterializerX, whatisurnameplz, paerarru, DarkYoungLink, and possibly others that nominated it before I began logging nominators.
979 Results: Harmful magic not waking up sleeping character is one of the worst RPG mechanics Agree: 13 Disagree: 19
My view: It certainly helped with his approval rating, but I don't think it guarantees his reelection. There are too many Americans that are concerned with other details of his presidency for me to think this would secure his reelection. Not saying it can't or won't happen, but I just don't see a guarantee. Disagree.
Rules: 1. Nominations must be open to debate. Use words like best, worst, or a variant thereof sparingly. 2. You are allowed to just agree or disagree without discussing the topic, but discussion of said topic is not only welcomed, it's allowed. 3. No alts, no flaming, no rallying, and no trolling. 4. You can nominate up to three different nominations every day. You cannot use them on one twice/three times in one day, and you can only nominate something once. 4a. You can also denominate a potential topic at any of the nomination levels. Denominations use up two regular nominations however, and afterword you can only nominate one item. Also, if you are denoming an item at five, please give a reason as to why. And no, "it is bad" won't work. If the item is denommed at 5, it must be renommed within 3 AoD topics or it will lose its scheduled date. 5. In long posts (IE: over a paragraph) Please bold/do something to your vote so I can pick it out.
Remember: that I can (and will) remove anything I deem worthless, useless, pointless, stupid, or too silly.

If you wake up at a different time, in a different place, could you wake up as a different person? [HERO'S PLUNGE] http://img.imgcake.com/finegifdy.gif
1, too early. 2, while it helps it's not like it's OH MAN HE GOT HIM GUESS I'LL VOTE FOR HIM WITHOUT A DOUBT or something. says he's active with the military and behind the scenes and is willing to hunt down and kill a man if he needs to (which does help with the conservative base). 2, the Republicans have nothing and that's what's his biggest aid.

The future must protect the clone's past. "Maybe it's a tentacle, molesting the planet itself. - Aschen Brodel.
Disagree. People have already pretty much forgotten about this. There are too many other major issues in our country for people to put that much stock in this one event. I don't think I've met a single person whose opinion on Obama was changed by this. If he does win reelection, it will be due to the weakness of his opponent or due to a split voter base from a relatively strong third party candidate.

Disagree because it is far too early to tell. It definitely helps him a great deal and could be what gets him re-elected but it's impossible to know that now.

question lechoke james tell how dose my bleb taste
disagree. Maybe if it happened a year from now so that it'd still be fresh in people's minds. But since it didn't go down that way, no.

"Principally I hate and detest the animal called man, although I heartily love John, Peter, Thomas and so forth" - Jonathan Swift BT with the victory!
Is that right? The US has made official announcements issued detailed reports about Osama's capture/death "nine times"? Feel free to provide a source.
and with the most recent they released a photoshopped image
They actually didn't release any images of Osama's body.
and dumped a closed casket into the ocean claiming it's an Islamic tradition (it's actually a Protestant tradition, but people are idiots and never look anything up; in Islam people are only sent out to sea if land burial is 100% impossible),
Nope. The sea burial wasn't what was a part of "Islamic tradition"; rather, it was the way the body was treated, cleaned, prepared, and issued a traditional prayer service.
and because people are morons they believe everything they're told by the idiot box (the television).

It certainly helps a lot. But anything can happen. He could really screw up in a debate or be involved in a scandal or something. Nothing is guaranteed.

They actually did, and TimJab even PM'd it to a bunch of people here. Can't post it because the "after" picture is against the ToU, but it's easy enough to find.
No, they didn't. The "supposedly" leaked picture didn't come from the government and is badly photoshopped. Unless you're talking about some other magical picture I haven't heard of.

That is not a leaked picture at all. It was outright given to the AP and people were expected to believe it was legitimate.
Ulti, this isn't something that's up for debate. Just days after Osama was confirmed dead, Obama issued a press release stating that the photos of Osama's body would not be released, as they could be misused for anti-American purposes (such as spurring up al-Quaeda members, etc.). Speaking of al-Quaeda, their own members have acknowledged Osama's death, so unless they're in on this too (MAYBE FOR THE OIL MONEY RIGHT), then Osama being alive is untenable.

Speaking as someone who worked with the government for years with Classified/Unclassified stuff I would not be surprised at all to hear that the government released a badly photoshopped picture and tried to pass it off as legitimate-- the government seems to be really stupid with technology if you look in the wrong places. And most places are the wrong places it seems. <_<
I haven't really looked into it, but the fact that the "leaked" photoshop was apparently so terrible makes me more inclined to believe Ulti's telling of the events. lol.

After that "al-CIAda" comment, I don't think this political discussion needs to go any further. But I'm curious, Ulti: what do you plan to do with all of this fine wisdom of yours? Are you planning to do something productive with it, or is the simple knowledge that you have the truth over us pampered sheep enough to keep you motivated to learn more?

I was a programmer for a research division of the government. Don't really know how to elaborate further or whether I should but we did have contact with DC directly. The reactions of higher ups to very basic stuff like webcrawlers and databases and the general incompetence of the divisions we were working with remotely had me facepalming daily.
To be fair to them though they did seem to be good at predicting social trends. They were like WHOA TWITTER WE NEED TO INVESTIGATE THIS NOW BEFORE IT EXPLODES. And sure enough it exploded
I'm just saying the idea of the government being a klutz with machines/photoshop makes sense to me, even if what you're saying doesn't entirely!

Alex Jones already exposed how the American government has lied about killing him multiple times in the past and he provides evidence...
Notice one of the people who lied about this he says was a former member of the counsil on foreign relations(Which is the iIIuminati in America). I already knew something was fishy for the fact that this was orchestrated on May 1st/The birthday of the iIIuminati. But that's cause I do the research. I don't just believe anything I see on TV which is something they have great control over.

it's an undeniable fact that 9/11 and a host of things that have happened since 9/11 have been used to attack basic rights and liberties.
you are totally right about that, but it is a logical leap to assume our government perpetrated these things. our government has just used them opportunistically to reduce rights.
