The dwarf may already be one of my favorite characters in anything ever.
Is he equally as good in the novels? That may actually be the tipping point on whether I read them or not.

This is good news. I couldn't tell how much of the awesome was just coming from the actor and how much was the material he was working with.

Having not seen the show yet, and being a fair ways into the second novel, I can safely say Tyrion is one of my favorite characters from anything. Just based off the novels. DEFINITELY the best character in the books.
The actor totally nailed Tyrion, he's just as awesome in the books.
Really, pretty much the entire cast nailed everything. Normally book adaptations have many shortcomings... but I can't believe how well everything translated to the screen on this one.

Really, the only differences from the book seem to be in appearance, and then that's mostly just hair. It seems that they don't like long or curly hair on the show while GRRM really does.
