This round is a little bit complicated, so hang with me a sec.
Round 3 has two parts: a round robin and a +10 aspect. First, the round robin.
* Round lasts 24 hours, one vote per person, no changing your vote, blah blah * Divisions consist of 4 games * Each game in a division will face each other in a 1v1 format. For example, on day 1 we'll get A vs. B and C vs. D, then on day 2 A vs. C and B vs. D, etc etc. * You get 5 points to split up however you like between the two games * You have to vote in both matches in a division for your vote to count. You can abstain an entire division if you want, but you can't give points to one set of games and not another. * Winner at the end of the day gets 10 extra points
After the round robin is over, there will be a bonus day where all four entrants are put together.
* You get 10 points to distribute however you like, just like the past round. * Top 2 highest scores in each division advance. * Scores will be posted at the end of each day. I fully expect the last day to be a free-for-all with some pretty huge point swings.
I seeded the divisions, sorta. each division has a game that placed first, second, third and fourth. it was randomized from there. I didn't want two PW or Pokemon games in the same division because they're so much smaller and we're further along.
yeah. it'll probably be like 400-350-250-200 to start and from there, who knows. if there's a clear first place and second/third place is close, we could have a huge point swing if people get behind one game over the other. should be fun.
Ghost Trick and CTDS were close for the first half of the match, but Ghost Trick went on a 35-0 tear that was basically the difference in the match. Devil Survivor was never really behind, but Meteos put on a nice comeback to almost take the match, It just needed one more vote.

PW1 rocked a fairly strong game in Dawn of Sorrow, proving it's one of the favourites to win the contest. TWEWY vs. Layton was close, then TWEWY took a comfortable lead, then Layton made it look respectable at the end. This is a really strong division so it should be a dogfight for who advances.

Two identical results. Now ask yourself - what's stronger, Pokemon HG/SS or Contra 4? Yeah.
Star of the Round: Phoenix Wright 1 and 3. Wow. If HG/SS is any indication, Pokemon Black/White is going to have a hard time matching up with these two games. They had arguably the strongest competition and still had the biggest margins of victory.
Turd of the Round: Devil Survivor. I dunno, I expected Meteos to kind of roll over here and instead it nearly won. I'll be curious to see CTDS vs. Devil Survivor 1 on 1.

wow. EBA jumped out to a small lead at the beginning and pretty much held it there until the end of the match. Pokemon had an early lead until Hotel Dusk came roaring back, finally taking the lead in the last 10 or so votes. Pokemon took a small lead in the last few hours but Hotel Dusk sealed it with a late 5 point vote.
this division seems like a three-way race between EBA, Hotel Dusk and Pokemon. the last day of this one could be nuts.
both matches went about the same: even at about the halfway point with the winning game pulling away slowly at the end. Meteos gets Ghost Trick last so it's probably done for, but CTDS vs. Devil Survivor and then the final day means that this could be a messy ending. despite CTDS being ahead in points, Devil Survivor probably has the edge here.
Division B

Dawn of Sorrow is pretty clearly the weakest in this division while Phoenix Wright is the strongest. Layton was never challenged but TWEWY was actually ahead maybe a third of the way into the match before the Phoenix Wright fanclub came along and pushed it to the biggest victory of the day. TWEWY's behind in points but gets Dawn of Sorrow next while Layton has to deal with Phoenix. TWEWY's beaten Layton three times now and has to be seen as the favourite to advance along with Phoenix.
Star of the Round - Professor Layton. Hotel Dusk is the easy pick here but I'm putting that one squarely on Pokemon's shoulders. I always thought Dawn of Sorrow was one of the ten most popular DS games at the very least and Layton won it easily. nice show.
Turd of the Round - Pokemon Black/White. give Hotel Dusk all the credit in the world but this is two crappy performances by Pokemon. given that Dawn of Sorrow looks weak and Pokemon hasn't looked that great, I'm starting to question if PW is this uber powerhouse like it's seemed. it's still stronger than everything else, but it's not untouchable like it was yesterday.

uhhh. Everyone here is 1-1 now. I have no idea what to think. Pokemon Black/White needed a huge comeback to beat EBA and Hotel Dusk just got embarrassed the whole way.
This set looks done, though SMT games have done great in the +10 rounds so we'll see how that goes. Ghost Trick and CTDS struggled early, especially Ghost Trick, but both get enough votes to get it done.
