Depends on if they mean on technicalities or not. I mean technically it is John Cena as Punk's title was vacated. But yeah, I doubt most of the people voting are looking at it like that and are just going 'Herp a derp Cena rules!'
Also, how many wins in a row does that make it for Ryder. And does anybody else atm have a longer live winning streak than him?

Crucifying my Oracle average one match at a time
That was the best Rey match I'd seen in years. Hitting the STF on Cena was A++. Would not mind seeing more Rey vs Cena-- they work well together for whatever reason.

i'm actually listening to the new observer radio (which is free today!), and they were talking about how rey carried the whole match and that cena was clumsy as hell and can't work lucha style at all

Yeah, Rey actually had me convinced he might win when he hit the 619. People don't do that for me often when they're facing Cena, therefore he did well.

As far as Cena raising the title goes, I think you can sort of tell from his body language and facial expressions that he knows that Punk is the true champion, but he's just doing what he's used to or what he's expected to and that it's a facade.

I mean, think about it. If it weren't for the tension he made and bringing his championship belt to rub it in Cena's face, we'd legit have to face the fact Rey Mysterio got screwed out of his first reign as WWE Champ harder than Christian as Heavyweight Champ!

I am fine with how Raw played out. I would've liked Punk to stay gone a bit longer, but I'm not ready to give up on this angle yet when it's been amazing so far. Still better than the Cena/Nexus firing angle at least! That, and I trust Punk to keep things awesome. Cena too, to some extent. Even if the booking goes downhill fast, it's Punk in the main feud of WWE. There's only so much it can suck.
For the record, I don't know Cult of Personality well enough to recognize it before he sings those words, but once I heard that, I knew it was Punk. >_>

- The July 22nd edition of WWE Smackdown scored a 1.89 rating with 2,821,000 viewers. That is up from the previous week's show, which did a 1.72 rating with 2,552,000 viewers.
I have to wonder where they are going with Rey, as I know it's a big deal for them to resign him as his contract expires early next year. I sort of doubt a 90 minute title reign is going to keep him coming back for more.
This is what I expected, they need to sell Summerslam and Football is coming back. Cena's done a decent job of toning it down and just getting to business.
The other day I was watching some youtube clips of stuff like HHH calling out Batista, but instead Angle comes down, and then HBK and Batista come down, and Flair is in there, and how awesome all that was. Angle says "woo" and Flair flips out. So good.
That's one thing I've noticed about the E right now, they really want to just put everyone in their slots more or less.

If they go as deep as some of you guys are saying this is actually not a bad spot for a double turn. Trips is the new corporate guy. Cena is his guard dog. Punk becomes the real savior. Cena goes heel to be Trip's lacky and Punk is the super baby face. Trips and Cena as a power trip has a ton of potential with what they could do. Punk, Morrison, Orton, Bryan, Sheamus. All key guys to run against him.
