- ten new levels, made by indie devs (including notch, aka The Minecraft Guy, and Souleye, aka the guy who composed VVVVVV) - completely reprogrammed to be faster (??????) - level editor - VVVVVV 2.0 is in the new Humble Indie Bundle; Steam version will be getting an update whenever they approve the patch - Steam achievements are coming, but not for a while - this is just speculation on my part, but I get the feeling a sequel is coming soon
do the player levels not save? I was making good progress on music guy's level, glitched through a ceiling, found my way to some kind of teleporter loop and the only way out was to exit to the menu. Not looking forward to starting that level over.
Is the update on Steam yet? I was away for a while and didn't see any indication of whether it had been updated or not. For some reason my Steam client never properly updates the News section so I miss update news frequently.
The Remember Me? segment is actually not too difficult outside of the first two screens. I got all the way through it in less deaths than it took me to get this trinket:
I have no idea why that one is so hard for me.
edit: whelp, figured out that the name of that screen was very significant to its solution. augh now I feel dumb

How much have you played vvvvvv? It isn't an extremely difficult game, just a little challenge if you decide to go for all the shinies. Each area has its own theme though, so there is some variety with the basic mechanic. If you don't like said mechanic, then no...it probably doesn't get 'better'. It is just a fun short game that is now a fun longer game with the addition of player levels.

There is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out
Turns out that you actually can save in these levels, but you have to do it manually from the pause menu. You can get unstuck that way by saving and then reloading
Finished Notch's level yesterday, and saved all crew members in Souleye's first level. My main problem with that level is too many points of no return that you can't know about until it's too late, which means you miss out on trinkets. I ended up with thirteen or fourteen out of a possible eighteen. There's some great new music though.

A hare like me couldn't catch up to Black Turtle.
just finished notch's level, forgot how much i loved this game
green guy path was my favourite i think. only complaint (besides the lack of a map) would be that you have to traverse the most irritating part of the level twice to reach two different guys.
I didn't really notice it before, maybe the custom levels I played didn't have this type of background, but replaying the main game I noticed that I now get significant slowdown on screens where the background is horizontal zigzags, as well as autoscrolling portions. I never had this problem before the update.

Golden Spiral is sooooo hard. I'm having a lot of trouble and didn't even bother with the shiny (makes doing things the hard way seem like a walk in the park).
Maybe I shouldn't have started with the last one after playing notchs level.
Edit: Actually finished it directly after posting this. That trinket oh my god. I don't know if I have the will power to make it back there to try again.

Black Turtle showed once again why you always bet on the turtle and not on the hare by winning the guru contest. Well done Guru Champ.
I bet you're going about it the wrong way--I did too for like ten minutes. Are you trying to get down through the middle of the screen where it opens up for a split second? You're supposed to go to the far left instead, though it actually is possible from the middle too, just you have to have godlike timing

I just beat notch's stuff, it was pretty easy but it was dumb running around trying to find where to go without a map
The music guy's levels are way more confusing too... I am just going forward and I have no idea if I am going the right way or if I am missing trinkets or what

This level was so dumb but I finally got it after a while... the key is to count and keep track of how many nudges have gone on the left side (there are 8 of them... right after the 7th nudge, it pulls you to the right a lot, so that's when you have you press left, but then you have to press right again for the 8th nudge so you don't die)

Is there a trick to this? Because I just tried for like 50 deaths and then stopped playing because it was dumb

I still don't understand why there is no controller support for this game. I realize I could just configure joytokey but it would just be so much easier if it just worked. I heard rumor on the steam forum that they might be adding it but don't know for sure, they really should though.

Yeah, on his forum he says he's working to add that next.
I've never used a gamepad for any PC game and have always been just fine, even Super Meat Boy which they insist must be done on a pad. Only time a problem comes is if the controls can't be changed and certain 3+ key combinations they require refuse to register on my keyboard, but that very rarely happens.

This game uses literally 3 buttons and none of the controls are analog, it's all instant, why would you use a controller? Unless you want to like sit in a couch while playing I guess.
-- _foolmo_ 'Oh please, if foolmo made that analogy you'd think it was picture perfect' - Biolizard28
I'm just way more comfortable using a controller, don't like having my arms stretched across to the keyboard when they don't have to be when using a controller. All about comfort and that's really the only reason to be honest.
