France got owned, Portugal will have a tough time against Russia and Canada has a great chance at reaching the hexagon round. Avoiding Mexico and United States leaves that group wide open, especially in the fight for second place.

group a has some solid rivalries, group c is very strong, and group e and g suck. spain + france is a pretty ridiculous combo, but they'll definitely be 1-2 so it sort of lessens the excitement there when it's only a battle for an auto spot/play-off place

CONCACAF's draw is very interesting, the US got a solid draw, but Mexico's group is stacked with a potential 4 of Mexico/Costa Rica/El Salvador/Trinidad & Tobago. All four of those teams made the hex in 2010 qualifying.

A: Belgium, Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Scotland, Wales (Decent group but I feel by late 2012 Belgium's young talent will be starting to shine)
B: Italy, Czechs, Denmark, Bulgaria, Armenia, Malta (Very close top 3)
C: Germany, Sweden, Austria, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Faroe (great group)
D: Netherlands, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Andorra (i'm part Romanian and I doubt I'll watch any of these. not a super weak group but pretty boring. Only real fight is for 3rd.
E: Switzerland, Slovenia, Norway, Albania, Iceland, Cyprus (weakest group. ugh)
F: Israel, Russia, Portugal, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg (Why yes, I am a Russian Jew, why do you ask?)
G: Bosnia, Slovakia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein (Weak group)
H: Montenegro, Ukraine, England, Poland, Moldova, San Marino (I'm super high on Montenegro. They are my darkhorse to make the semis in 2014. They are playing great and most of their talent is young. Ukraine will be coming off the high of hosting Euro12 and England is overrated.
I: Spain, France, Belarus, Georgia, Finland (lolfrance)

You don't get England, clearly. We dominate qualifying groups, with maybe one or two little stupid slipups along the way, and then ride a tidal wave of hype into the tournament before we implode. Duh.

I will account bet you that we win that group

i'm worried about sweden's chances of beating Ireland. I remember a friendly Sweden had vs Ireland a few years ago, where Ireland won 3-0, sweden were dominated

then again that was maybe 3-4 years ago, the squads will be very different in two years compared to then
