I'm watching Quarantine 2 now and I need to watch a couple of others on the list that I own, but haven't gotten round to watching yet. Can anyone suggest good zombie films I might have missed somehow that might be worth watching before I start? Also I fully expect World War Z to push its way to the top of the rankings when it comes out, but I ain't waiting that long.

I'd say REC but you've seen that so I'm just going to say 'if REC isn't nr 1 out of that list or any horror list for that matter you are wrong'

REC is a great zombie movie but not the best. I'd put Shaun of the Dead above it, and 28 Days Later; maybe Pontypool, I need to rewatch that one...

As for things you haven't seen, you should definitely check out Cemetery Man, Fido, and the Night of the Living Dead remake. You might count the Re-Animator series, and Wild Zero for a ridiculous Japanese zombie rock'n'roll movie. And I haven't seen Colin, but I think it's on Netflix Instant right now, sooo... might check that out, I guess?

Whoa, wait, the only Return of the Living Dead movie you've seen is the third one? Definitely see the first one!

And Peter Jackson's Dead Alive (originally named Braindead) is also a must-see.

Yeah, well, the third one was hilariously terrible. Didn't really put me in a good place to watch the first two.

Might watch Dead Alive. Though I don't really watch zombie films for the gore.

Dead Alive is hilarious. It's also absurdly gory, yes, but if you watch comedic zombie films for humor, then I highly recommend it.

And just because you saw the second crappy sequel to a fine movie, doesn't mean the first one is bad!
