Pretty small collection huh? It's roughly one year old and I didn't had any income before now so it didn't grow much during that year but things will change now that I have a job ! I plan to spend around 100$ a month on CDs so I should get a nice collection pretty fast.
Problem though, my musical knowledge is almost barren and I bought at least one CD from every artist I am interested in atm (missing like 4-5 artists).
My CD collection has a theme though : Girl Power. Atm I have only CDs from female solo artists or groups with female lead singers and I want to keep it that way, male voices don't please me that much so songs I like from male singers are few and far between. Anyway ! I would also like my collection to be multicultural and multi-language, atm I only have music in 4 different languages (French, English, Japanese, Korean, I plan to buy a Russian CD soon though) and that's where you guys come into play, most of you know much much more than me about music and thus are more likely to know artists I never heard of.
Note that I like every single genre to an extent, while I prefer Pop, Rock, Metal and Electronica the rest can be nice too so don't hesitate to post some other genre as well !
So uh yeah, just posts some link on there !

Get into Touhou, you can find a lot of free music with japanese female vocals from that. Alstromeria Records and ALiCE's EMOTiON have some of my favorite vocal covers
I'm just gonna give 5 albums from different genres to get you going, if you want some more recs feel free to ask. Gonna be tougher with only female voices but HERE WE GO
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (Jazz, so instrumental) Portishead - Dummy (trip-hop) Björk - Homogenic (electronic, pop, experimental) Metric - Fantasies (synth pop) Cocteau Twins - Treasure (dream pop)

In that case, No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom and/or Rock Steady

Alela Diane - The Pirate's Gospel : Nice, not a genre I listen to often but I liked it !
The Birthday Massacre - Violet : Love this, especially the delicious music.
Lights - The Listening : Pretty nice.
Emilie Autumn - Opheliac : Love, love, LOVE this will definitely look for more later, my amazon.com finger is already itching, actually ***** it, already bought.
Tegan and Sara - The Con : Pretty good ! The girls ain't really pretty though, but that's completely irrelevant.
Rilo Kiley : I like her, especially that 2nd song !
I'll listen to the rest of you guys suggestions soon.
