I usually go through FE8 in one or two days myself. It's not a very long game even by FE standards.

I'm the type to dedicate a lot of time to things, what can I say. And considering I ****ed up my leg this morning and probably won't be able to leave home until the weekend, I imagine the next two days will have a lot more FE playing going on <_< The only reason Radiant Dawn isn't closing in on the end right now is that I have something else to focus on and I'm still pissed about that bridge.

This was funny to me.

I finally got to part 2. The last chapter of part 1 was better once I gave Nailah Pass and Celerity, those thieves didn't even get close to any treasure chests.

I gave Edward Paragon, and I was gonna give someone else the boss kill, but then I realized that I don't want to waste the Paragon, so Edward killed him, he's now my highest level that isn't a mother f***ing god. Speaking of, Black Knight was really helpful in this chapter, because I dequip him and enemies hopelessly attack him like idiots, and then I just have Jill swoop in with a Hammer and destroy any heavy armor enemies, then fly away to safety.

For some reason I keep forgetting to bring my Hammer into battles. I think I'm forgetting that this isn't one of those Fire Emblems where you actually have decent magic users to destroy those things (and that it isn't one of those Fire Emblems where generals have no resistance, either). This game probably has the toughest armors on a chapter-by-chapter basis.

For sure, especially since the only magic user I had was Micaiah (because lol wasting time with Tormod or Illyana), and she could have done some good damage with Thani, but she was already level 20, so I wasn't going to waste exp. AND she can't escape after attacking like Jill can.

Every point of luck is +1 hit, +1 avoid, and +1 dodge (how much you reduce enemy crit by). Or it might be every two points is the hit/avoid (the dodge part is right though).

In FE9/FE10, it's 1/1/1 like you said. In the GBA FEs, 1 Luck = 0.5 Hit, 1 Avoid, 1 Dodge. In Shadow Dragon, 1 Luck = 0.5 Hit, 0.5 Avoid, 1 Dodge. Also Dodge is a silly term. Admittedly, Crit Evade isn't actually better and at least Dodge is official.

Alright. Let's get back to this. At least I have a chapter I actually like up next, after what, four straight that range from dull to BRIDGE.

Chapter 3-13

We get to stick with the Dawn Brigade, and defend a castle from a horde of laguz led by...Ike. I am so tempted to go for the Ike kill here, but A) I like defensive sieges, and B) I don't think I can actually kill him reliably

Now I'll discuss the plot in some serious depth.

Actually I won't, because I don't want to.

Anyway, for some mysterious reason Nolan has capped two stats. One is skill, which is normal enough. The other is...magic. WTF. He picks up Beastfoe again while Edward keeps Paragon. Maybe he'll actually get to benefit from it this time.

Micaiah being trapped behind a green line is a bit arbitrary, but I don't mind too much because it's not like I'd be sending her to be a front line fighter anyway. So to begin with everyone charges except the people who suck, since I want to intercept the enemies before they can swarm in close enough for the birds to try to fly over my line. Also this is the map with the "legendary" 3-13 archer. We'll see if he actually lives up to his hype today.

Laura has a Sleep staff now. I don't really have any great tactic uses for it so she kind of just throws it out at random to enable kills or just for fun. As you might expect, it doesn't last very long. Also it turns out Micaiah doesn't even have the rank necessary to use Purge, which pretty much eliminates her ability to do a damn thing. If I had realized that I could have just given her an Arms Scroll <_< The NPCs here are not being as useful as the ones in 3-12. However, 3-13 archer kills a cat for me with a ballista crit. Unnecessary since it was at 1HP already, but cool nonetheless. And just like that too many NPCs have died and the enemies are upon us and it's all hectic retreat scrambling.

When the cats are on the stairs, their dodge animation is crazy. They side step straight into the walls.

Nolan with Tarvos is an absolute beast here, taking either 2 or 0 damage from cats and birds and being able to survive 6 hits from tigers. With Beastfoe he mows down a half dozen foes per turn, I just have to watch out for him awesoming himself to death. And man, this chapter almost seems to exist solely so your units can gain some levels. With Paragon Edward is gaining something like 45 EXP even when he doesn't kill. Jill comes up 1HP short of killing a tiger with the Brave Axe :( On the other hand, Edward comes 1HP short of 2HKOing a tiger with Caladbolg, which means he didn't awesome himself to death :)

I actually manage to stem the tide of laguz after a while, leaving only a pair of cats and a hawk anywhere near my troops. Kind of surprised, I thought it was a much more steady stream of enemies. I guess last time I played I didn't have the Beastfoe Nolan thing going on. And then 3-13 Archer just OHKO'd a cat with a ballista crit. Dude is no slouch. Then he drops into his pit, dishes out some good chip damage but sadly is defeated before he can kill anything. We'll remember your efforts, brave warrior.

The first time you play this and see the Greil Mercenaries join the battle and then start charging, it's pretty intimidating. Then you realize that they don't have the movement to actually reach you and pose any real threat in the amount of time left <_<

All in all a very fun chapter. Also a productive one; Edward gained about ten levels here, Nolan and Jill picked up a good four or five each as well.

I want to do it someday but there was no chance in hell this time. Ike would have annihilated me.

Chapter 3-E

Hey, part 3 is over after this!

This is a pretty peculiar chapter with a unique "win" condition. There's tons of NPCs fighting and you can pretty much do nothing if you so choose because the map will end after a certain number of units total have been killed. It's a strange and cool experience, but one that doesn't leave a lot to talk about, unfortunately. Worth noting is that there are a TON of special conversations here if certain units fight each other, but most of them are pretty much impossible to ever see due to the units in question starting so far away from each other and not having time to cross the map.

So uh I move dudes forward and then stuff happens? I like this chapter a lot, but I just don't have anything to comment on about it really. I guess I could point out that Skrimir and his forces kick a lot of ass here.

Tibarn starts the map unshifted, so he actually manages to take damage. I guess that's pretty noteworthy! Ike gets put to sleep by an enemy Bishop. God this commentary is so riveting. I'm like the Jim Ross of video games.

I'm really trying to think of something to say, but I just can't. I like this chapter. I really do. But it's just so blah to talk about because there's no real objective or anything beyond "wander around killing stuff".

I don't see how it's even possible.

As for my progress report:

F*** yeah Nephenee, she practically solo'd her whole introduction chapter, I didn't even send Brom and Heater up the stairs, she just went up by herself and murdered everyone. Of course it took about a full supply of Vulneraries to accomplish but was SO WORTH IT.

Then Lucia died in the next chapter because I was just like f*** it and sent her into the thick of an enemy group in the darkness and a crappy bowgun was the death of her. Actually that left her with one HP, poison she had received earlier finished her off.

Alright, into Part 4!

Part 4

In this part, all the human enemies are golden instead of vaguely red tinted! This is a bit of a break in series tradition, but that doesn't bug me. What does bug me is that the bright gold enemies are an eyesore <_< Relatively minor complaint though, this section of the game is mostly good.

Oh yeah, the big gimmick here is splitting the combined cast into three separate groups. I'm not going to list who goes where because it would take ages, but you'll see names of useful people pop up enough to get an idea anyway.

Ike promotion get! Shame I don't get to actually use it quite yet <_<

Chapter 4-P

Hey, I get to have Naesala now. He's a tad weak for a laguz royal, which means he's still about as good as expecting to have a cracker for dessert and getting chocolate mousse instead

The very random array of units I have at my disposal makes planning this chapter out a bit of a mess. That's standard for part 4 really, you have a few killers and a bunch of mediocre dudes you have to try to figure out how to make use of. So I'm having Naesala and Skrimir put in some good work here to help keep on top of everything, while my legion of flying units abuse canto to pick off enemies and keep safe. Neph and Haar are in this group so they can pretty much handle one of the two choke points to the starting area all alone, freeing up everyone else to co-operate to handle the other side.

I decide to let Calil, Tanith, Sigrun and Sanaki do more work here than is strictly prudent, mainly because I want them to try to get to a decent level so they can contribute some offense to the desert chapter. Jill has Paragon for much the same reasons, although she's using it to gain terrible level ups.

The boss starts moving and feels the need to run after Haar. You might think that Brave Sword would trump an axe user, but if so, you forgot that Haar is Haar. Poor guy didn't stand a chance. The swordmaster who teleported into the middle of my group also didn't stand a chance. Picked at by mages and then when the last hit missed, a lion smacked him.

In the end all the enemies die and I win and I'm happy. Jill got a ton of levels here, although most of them sucked.

1 skill = +2 accuracy
2 skill = +1 crit

Give it to someone who has been having shaky accuracy, or has low strength and thus has to rely on stronger but less accurate weapons a lot.

Chapter 4-1

NOW I get to use promoted Ike. On a fog of war map with multiple fronts, enemy flying units jumping over my barricades and general confusion. I don't dislike it though.

Oscar and Titania go to cover the east side, Ike and Mia south, Nailah, Nolan and Edward join forces on the west. Somewhere near my home there is a car horn being honked repeatedly and it is really pissing me off. Edward nearly dies when he takes lightning bolts and a lance to the face. I decide to dedicate Rafiel to more or less permanently helping that side of the battle go smoothly, which helps Mist keep everyone healed so we can all be happy.

Mia has decided that dodging is for losers on this map and keeps finding arrows stuck inside her flesh. And holy crap EXP gain just skyrockets in part 4, it's kind of hilarious. Edward and Nolan basically level up with every kill, even the third-tier characters gain a lot.

The tendency of reinforcements to spawn inside the camp or in the nearby corners or just wherever else they god damn feel like it does get a little annoying, since it tends to leave you scrambling to deal with them. Horseslayer dudes hiding in the darkness is also an issue. And I guess this is the time to point out that I still find the idea of staffs being equipped as weapons funny. Every time some irrelevant enemy Bishop taps me with a Physic staff I chuckle a bit.

The east and south teams converge in the corner where the boss is, while everyone in the camp tries to figure out where they can be safe from reinforcements who spawned in the darkness. I suddenly notice Nolan has hit his 2nd tier caps for everything but HP, strength, luck and defense. Gee, wonder if he should avoid combat so he can get some good BEXP levels now!

In any event, Ike gets the boss kill. The next enemy phase sees nearly everyone that's left suiciding into various units. Eventually I'm left with no visible enemies, so I have to do a little scouting to find whoever is hiding on me. That takes a bit longer than I was expecting, but it gets done.

Chapter 4-2

Yay I get to control Tibarn now and he's really awesome and all that. Also Elincia is back to being playable. Maybe I should have her unequip herself and charge into the middle of the enemies. Nah, only an IDIOT would do something like that.

This group is a little bit undermanned, with several of its better units being laguz and thus on a timer. It shouldn't matter much though since I'd say they have the easiest route overall; this map is big and can take a while, but it's fairly simple, and their next map can be ended pretty much at any moment if you really want it to.

Shinon and Gatrie go west. They can handle a lot of stuff so Tibarn helps the crew of misfits handle the south. Unfortunately I only have one healer on this map (hint: It's Elincia) so things could potentially get ugly when the group is split up, but I'll deal with that if it happens. I decide that Reyson will follow Elincia to help her keep on top of things.

A Blizzard sage reinforcement shows up on turn 2. That is painful on the plentiful wind-weak units I brought, so I change tactics and have Reyson enable Tibarn to smite it before it becomes a problem. Meanwhile Tauroneo takes some huge damage but survives and does enough chip for me to be happy. Then he has to run away in terror for a while. On the next enemy phase, Tibarn actually gets hit by an arrow. I am amazed. It's like the entire world has changed and I can't understand how it works anymore.

Janaff and Ulki finally get to do more than just be bit players, as I decide to turn them loose to beat up on enemies and help back up my rather short-staffed army. They're both pretty damn useful. The enemies here have next to no hit rate on them, and even the generals are reduced to pretty pitiful amounts of health by their attacks. Speaking of flying units, Elincia eventually manages to level up and gain the speed she needs to start doubling things. Every level of speed she gets contributes to the number of things she can do significant damage to. 4 attacks with Amiti is nothing to laugh at.

My south/east team is struggling so Tibarn decides to fly towards them and help out. Because he's Tibarn, and he's an "I win" button. Of course as I do that, Volug immediately kicks some ass and Reyson bails me out by dodging two attacks in a row. I feel like often when I type something, events in the game will immediately contradict it.

The constant stream of reinforcements all over the map is part of why I called this chapter long. It can really drag on, but it's still not very tough. The abundance of ranged attacks around the boss also slows me down a bit, since my best units prefer to use 1 range weapons, if they even have the option to switch at all. Speaking of the boss, Valtome is a whining moron who gets casually wiped out by Tibarn. His tome does have a pretty cool animation though.

Pretty simple chapter really. The size is the only really standout feature, and I'm an FE4 fan so large maps don't exactly bother me.

Desert, yay

I had a lot to say about this but then Firefox decided that not typing for a few moments meant that I had clicked elsewhere on the page (I didn't) and that hitting backspace did not mean "delete" (it did) but rather "go back a page so you lose everything you typed" (it didn't). So the summary is

- Hidden treasures to get
- Stefan is obscurely hidden
- Lekain leaves when he's "killed" instead of retreating on his own, which I thought I remembered
- Naesala owns stuff. Haar owns stuff. Others stand around
- Burger King returns, sadly with no french fries
- I win (shocker, I know)

I hate losing all that I've written like this :(

Chapter 4-4

A mansion. Interesting place for a fairly challenging battle.

Edward and Nolan get the previously alluded to promotions. Hooray! Tormod and his group show up here. If you've forgotten who they are, I don't blame you, we haven't seen them since 1-E. They're pretty bad now. And this map features Oliver, a worthless character who is also pretty damn funny.

This is a very crowded battle. Narrow halls, lots of enemies, lots of enemies clustered together. Not an easy place to fight. Nolan and Edward rush forward to clear a path so the idiot squad can escape their precarious starting position. Ike goes ahead to tank some enemies because he's Ike and nothing kills him. Mia and Nailah go up the gap to take on some dudes, with Heather trailing because she can open things. Rafiel follows, mainly to let Mia and Nailah get back into the action quicker, and also because I suspected the room might have enemies in it. Which it did. So Nailah ran in there to make them not be in the room anymore.

Oscar, Titania and Mist all have to take the long way due to being on horses, so they take that area pretty much by themselves. Everyone else heads up and starts the monumental task of clearing out the rest of this place. I get a little unsure of where to position Rafiel; there's a lot of bows here, and while he isn't weak to them like his siblings, he still dies to enemies that attack him and walling him off from archers is not always easy. Eventually I decide that the best defense is a great offense, so I use him to refresh Ike, Mia and Nailah, who can quite capably clear out any threats to him. Nailah is the one to go up after the archers, which kind of sucks since unlike Ike she can't counter them, but she can still block a ledge long enough for everyone else to catch up and start kicking ass.

Unfortunately, Ike gets put to sleep, and I forgot to buy a Restore staff for this group to use. "Woops". So he gets to sit around being a still largely invincible tank for a while, and he still provides Mia with support bonuses. Not as bad as it could have been. The big problem is that Mia and Nailah will probably be next, and that's an awful lot of my team to be napping. Mia pulls off a dodge though, which ensures that even if she goes to bed next turn, Nailah will remain free to wreak havoc. It ends up being Edward who goes to sleep, which is fine by me, since he's walled off from attack by Nolan anyway.

I start taking advantage of the ability to reduce turns of sleep by shoving people, and position Nolan to take on the fresh reinforcements. He destroys the two melee ones, dodges the Spear guy, and is just out of range of the mage. Nolan is still awesome. He finishes off the mage on the next turn, then Nailah steps in to help prevent the enemies in the top room from getting too overwhelming. Then Ike joins them because Mordecai shoved him into waking up. I love that mechanic.

Nailah ends up taking pretty much the entirety of the mobile enemies in the throne room <_< I wanted Nolan to level up some more because his class has some of the best caps for endgame, but oh well. He's still got stuff he can kill here. Also, Tormod manages to hit something with Meteor to help Mia get the kill. "Yay".

Titania and Oscar hold off all the reinforcements that spawn in the lower area. There's several waves of them, but these two are in "never die" mode so it's okay. Everyone else goes for the throne room except Nailah and Heather, who have stuff to collect. Then reinforcements show up farther away from the cavalry, so I have to divert Edward and Nolan back to handle them. Rafiel helps them on their way, then waits just outside of Olivers range. He'll recruit the fat dude, but not until I've gotten everything else taken care of.

There are a LOT of reinforcements on this map. It's nothing I can't handle, but still. This ends up taking a bit longer than I expected because I forgot how many of them there are. Mopping them up isn't just a "move guys once, enemy phase suicide, yay" procedure. It's okay though because it lets Nolan gain some more levels. And Edward too. I'll have to compare him and Mia to see who gets to come to the grand finale with me. Maybe even both. In the meantime, Oliver recruits himself. It kind of saddens me that I won't get to see his amusing pre-battle conversations with some of the bosses in the tower. I do have him talk with Ike though, just because Ike's line "Look...would you mind rejoining the enemy?" is worth seeing.

One of the reinforcement sages has Meteor. You can't believe how much that pisses me off. Good thing I have battle saves, because that sniped Vika down. Not that I care about her, but I kind of want to recruit everyone (well, besides the two secret characters I'm already locked out of because they're either too much work or because I don't like them) and keep them alive. Other than that it's not too threatening a group, there's just way too damn many of them.

Still a fun chapter, even if the hordes of reinforcements slow it down some at the end. Only one more to go before we enter the Endgame series!

Chapter 4-5

You know, Ike's team really does get the hardest chapters. This one is basically just a gigantic feeding ground to gain as much EXP as you want, with the knowledge that you can end it at pretty much any time with Tibarn charging Izuka. Oh yeah, Izuka shows up here and we get to kill him. Didn't see that coming, he seemed like such a nice guy at first.

Oh yeah. This chapter is named Unforgivable Sin, which is almost the same as Unpardonable Sin, which is the name of a great song by death metal band Immolation. I don't know why I thought of that.

The first turn is a tad rough looking, but all you really need to do is retreat a bit and you're out of range of most things, and then you can kill them the next turn. It helps that I have Gatrie, and he's invincible against everything except the tigers and dragons. And Izuka, but that goes without saying. The only people here who are going into the final chapters with me are Elincia, Shinon and Tibarn, so I focus on getting the former two some last-minute EXP while the latter goes off to deal with Izuka.

I end up stalling a bit longer than is strictly necessary, partly because the tigers actually do damage and have reasonable hit rates on Tibarn, partly because I want Shinon to gain a bit more speed. So I let the hawk king just kind of roam around while Elincia and Shinon pick stuff off, and Elincia slowly works her way over to help heal him if he needs it. Flight on swamp terrain is ridiculously good, since they can canto in and out of range of things and never be in danger. Unfortunately, Izuka likes to warp himself away if you get too close, so then the length becomes less of a choice and more of an obligation.

Everyone else just kind of wanders around killing things while the flying guys (and girl) go try to win. I'm getting surprisingly good luck with dodging here. I'm also getting good luck with enemies targeting Tibarn when the much more fragile Elincia is right next to him. And of course, we're getting mastery skills activating on enemies we'd have OHKO'd anyway, because that's how I roll. Gatrie and Shinon head north along the eastern side so they can let Shinon level up more. After being indecisive for some reason I can't fathom, I send Janaff and Ulki along with Tibarn and Elincia to help clear their path. No idea why I didn't do that to begin with. Reyson also follows along, but at least there was a reason for his delay (enemies needing to be cleared out).

I discover in this map that weapons that are locked to a specific person (like Amiti) cannot be equipped by using the trade command. That's kind of annoying, but oh well. The turn where it comes up, Elincia dodges and activates Stun on both enemies that attack her anyway.

And then I have Elincia kill Izuka because she happened to be in range and I figured she needs the EXP more than Tibarn does.

And now I'm at the endgame series! Hooray for me!

Heh, I just finished the RETREAT! chapter, and I actually managed to rush the boss, steal the Energy Drop, and kill him with Nephenee, I'm getting better at this game. It was REALLY freakin' close though, as I didn't realize the boss would run away when I got near him, I had Gatrie, Haar, and Nephenee, and Heater trailing behind, but then on turn 9 after he ran, of course there was a bunch of reinforcements RIGHT THERE. And there was no way I could position Heather out of harms way, so she had to face four different enemies on horses, she got hit by one of them, and dodged the others (doing no damage in the process) I was so amazed.

Then I thief'd that Energy Drop, had no choice but to Rescue her with Haar so that Neph had a window of attack, I was hoping for a critical with a forged lance, no such luck, she didn't kill him and got hit in the process. But the turn ended, and he attacked her, it missed, and Neph did get a critical... on the last hit that would have killed him anyway. That's been happening a LOT for this playthrough.

Oh and Titania got to tier 3.

Now I'm back to the Dawn Brigade. I bought like every special weapon from the Shop just 'cause, and now I have no more money. Let's see how this goes.

Ha, I did something I never did before, I usually just defend the starting position, but this time I had my defenses a little more tightly woven when BK appeared, and I de-equipped his chicken tenders so that enemies would mostly target him and not my more fragile allies (Micaiah was hidden away behind everyone though). I had Edward and Nolan move around some more and I actually found Lethe and Mordecai, which surprised me, and Edward finished Lethe off, while Mordecai was too strong to defeat, and we wouldn't have been able to, because there was only one left to destroy, and the last one probably would have suicided on Edward anyway.

It's Endgame time!

Lots of time has to get spent on item and skill re-arranging before we move on.

The following units will be coming into the tower with me:

Ike, Micaiah, Sothe, Sanaki, Kurth, Ena (duh, they're all forced)

Haar, Nephenee, Mist, Nailah, Mia, Nolan, Tibarn, Elincia, Shinon, Caineghis

And...Reyson

DUN DUN DUN

Chapter 4-E-1

So this is a pretty interesting tower layout. Not very safe with all those narrow paths with no railing or anything. I'm disappointed in Ashera for not following safety regulations. In any event, this map has us kill Lekain. Yay. Also we get the Double Bow, which is a tremendously great weapon and the entire reason I brought Shinon along. Grabbing that and taking out the two siege tome wielding enemies are my two top priorities for early on this map.

Tibarn transforms and takes advantage of flight to go after the guy with Bolting, skipping around several enemies to do it. Caineghis follows behind him to destroy anything else that he doesn't get. Meanwhile, Reyson uses a Laguz Gem. He misses out on the first turn, sure, but he's permanently transformed for the rest of the map, meaning he gets to refresh four people at once while still having Canto, something Rafiel can't do. Then we position ourselves to take a pounding on enemy phase.

The status staff users who hang out on the far side of the map are quite a problem once again. This is why Mist and Elincia are better choices for healers than anyone else; Canto can let them get to people to Restore them and then get back out of range before something destroys them. Ike gets put to sleep on the first turn, and Mist gets silenced, but she equipped her Restore staff beforehand so she'll recover immediately. On turn 2 the Bolting guy falls to Tibarn, Shinon gets his fancy new weapon (YAY) and Haar takes out the Blizzard sage. So that's all my big early goals taken care of quite early.

Some pretty tough enemies on this map. A few of the generals can just barely survive a round of combat from Nailah (unless she activates Savage, which she tends to do). Pretty impressive guys. There's also Brave Sword and Brave Axe wielding enemies. At least there's only a couple of those. Oh, Tibarn gets put to sleep too far away for me to Restore him. ****. Fortunately I can throw Physic at him and he can still activate his hilarious "nuh uh" skill Pavise while napping, so he's fine. And I can just charge forward and kill most of the enemies around him anyway. I tend to forget that characters have fairly high Move in this game.

On turn 3, I charge Lekain. This is slightly dangerous since I don't have anyone with Nihil in the group that's taking him on, so I do run the risk of him activating Corona on me, which is not fun. I can manage though. This is also when I remember the Cover tiles, which are a pain in the ass when they're giving an enemy general +10 defense just for standing still. In any event, Elincia shuts him down with a Stun activation and he dies without getting to do anything. The next turn, Caineghis opens a path so Tibarn can take out Hetzel, removing the status effect threat for good.

Still laughing when Bishops hit me with their sticks. I also realize that I didn't deploy Sothe (didn't want to have to waste effort protecting him) so I can't open the treasure chest and get the Matrona staff. I'd care more if any of my characters had the rank to use it (Elincia and Mist cap at S staffs, Micaiah only has A so she would have needed Arms Scrolls, if those even work on staffs)

How does Adept work with Brave weapons anyway? I just had it activate, but then Neph critkilled the guy so I never found out the answer.

This is another map where the real threat can be dealt with early, and then it's just clean up after that.

Because I like having multiple healers who can move around, and Elincia has actual good offense so having Mist lets me make use of it. And Edward stayed home mainly because he and Mia were pretty much equal, but I'd rather bring Ike's support partner than Nolan's support partner. Eddie contributed a lot throughout the game, he's done enough.

Chapter 4-E-2

It's time to fight the Black Knight! And also that Levail dude who kept popping up in part 3! This is exciting! Actually it isn't because this is hugely dull and anticlimactic and it will last two turns at most.

Caineghis got the Pass and Nihil skills. You can see where I'm going with this, I hope. Haar also has Pass, in case he needs to use it to clear a path.

Everyone backs off at first, Ike stands still. Reyson uses his Laguz Gem. The enemy phase happens. Enemies approach and don't achieve much of anything. The Black Knight walks off his Cover tile to attack Ike, gets a critical hit (remember the good old days when Nihil blocked those?) and takes some damage in return.

Turn 2 comes. Caineghis moves forward and kills a guy. Haar kills the dude in front of Levail. Tibarn, Elincia and Nailah join Caineghis in getting refreshed by Reyson. Caineghis smacks Levail, Elincia kills the dude to his east, Tibarn flies in and kills Levail. Other units poke some enemies to get EXP. Kind of unnecessary at this point, but it's fun. I make my final Burger King reference as Ike finishes him off with two hits from a Hammer with 80 displayed hit (so pretty good odds of both connecting). I win. Man that was an intense, dramatic final showdown with the big personal nemesis that's been hyped up across two games, huh?

This chapter is just so underwhelming.
