When I saw LMS's vote, I thought to myself that it looked like it was baiting Ulti (well, Ulti and about half the board). Then I saw Ulti's vote, and was saddened by it. There's no excuse to vote for Brawl. Even if you think Wind Waker was what put Nintendo on the road to Brawl, desolation is always worse than the thing that caused it years earlier. Which is worse, mass starvation or the government policies that led to it? Definitely the starvation.

There's only one 3D Zelda that I'd vote for Brawl over. It's Ocarina of Time.

Hardly. I haven't got my actual votes saved, but I've been voting for Chrono Trigger more often than not--looking at what it's faced, I'd have voted for it at least 7 times, probably 8 (don't remember for sure if I voted for it against Mother 3.) I just don't think it's earned the #1 spot yet, not when RBY is taking out top-tier opponents every third week. Let's just look at the records of the current top 25 against, well, the current top 25. Better yet, let's use the current RPI top 25 as our gauge. Asterisk next to their name means they're facing another member of the top 25 this week and thus would have another win against them by the next voting period if they win this week.
Chrono Trigger: 2-0 RBY*: 3-0 RE4: 1-0 SM64*: 3-1 ALttP*: 2-1 Galaxy 2: 2-2 SMB3: 1-2...wait, why are some games already being shown with Week 13 wins? FFIX: 1-1 Super Metroid*: 1-0 (lost to non-top 25 game) MGS1: 1-1 FFX*: 2-1 Galaxy: 1-2 Batman*: 0-1 Phoenix 3: 0-1 Melee: 2-2 MGS3: 0-1 SMW*: 1-2 Portal: 0-2 Mega Man 2: 1-0 (lost to non-top 25 game) Phoenix: 1-2 SMW2: 1-2 Majora: 1-1 (lost to one non-top 25 game) FFVI*: 2-3 DKC2: 1-2 MK64: 1-1 (lost to one non-top 25 game)
Um...yeah, based solely on that, I feel justified in putting RBY #1 as long as it's still undefeated, especially because it's not like the rest of its opponents have been pushovers. It's not exactly like I had RBY at the top from the beginning, either--it wasn't until its first big win (which seemed bigger at the time because its opponent was even higher on my ballot) that I elevated it to #1, and then only after that did it defeat Melee, which seemed even stronger then and still seems strong now. (Also, remember that despite being #13 with the voters, Ocarina of Time isn't in the RPI top 25.)

If you make it so that it's top 10 RPI wise, Chrono Trigger has a 2-0 while RBY has a 1-0
It also had to go to OT against Star Fox 64, something I don't think CT will ever have to deal with in OT.
Also, say whatever, but Chrono Trigger beating SMB3 and ALTTP so easily is way more impressive then anything RBY's done, because none of it's opponents are SMB3 or ALTTP tier. (Aside from maybe Melee, which it still needed OT to deal with, while Chrono Trigger didn't even come close to needing OT to deal with it's wins)

Tsunami reminds me of the BCS: He steadfastly refuses to count margin of victory as important, even though it clearly is a factor in the RPI, then ignores or dances around the question when he's asked about it.
Tsunami, just do yourself a favor, say you hate Chrono Trigger and/or love RBY. We already know.

If you are reading this signature, then you are wasting a great deal of your time.
If you're looking at the whole picture, then you're stupid to drop CT out of #1. CT's SoS is 6th overall, and the only game in the top 5 with a better SoS is Mario 3 (R/B/Y's faced more creampuffs than CT has in KOTOR, GTA: SA, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Gears of War 1, and Cave Story, a.k.a HALF OF ITS SCHEDULE as opposed to CT only facing three games that are .500 or worse, and yet we want to drop CT because it's going to face a couple of sub-par games the next two weeks).
But you're not taking into account how badly CT has beaten its opponents. You only want to look at the face value and not at the margin of victory. You conveniently ignore that R/B/Y needed OT to beat Star Fox 64, and for some reason you want to ignore the fact that CT has not had a close match all season, despite facing two top 5 caliber games. I would argue FFVI and Galaxy 2 are not top tier opponents either. They're certainly not top 10 quality games in this contest. Yes, R/B/Y nearly doubling them both is pretty impressive, but I'd argue 9 vote wins over Mario 3 and LTTP are more impressive.
Okay, let's look at this, week by week.
Week 1: RBY beats KOTOR 36-16; CT beats SoMI 31-11. CT wins by just as many raw votes with lower votals, and against a game that currently has a better record...but not a better game. We were all talking about how KOTOR was rebounding from its rough start against strong games; SoMI's 7 wins came against seven cupcakes. I'd give this one to RBY, but barely.
Week 2: RBY beats San Andreas 43-10; CT beats Wind Waker 35-23. No question CT's more impressive here.
Week 3: RBY beats FFVI 35-19; CT beats SotN 32-24. No question RBY's more impressive here--more raw votes with slightly lower votals, against a superior opponent.
Week 4: CT doubles up Mother 3; RBY beats Melee in OT. I really have no idea which is more impressive, because I still don't have a great read on Mother 3 yet.
Week 5: CT beats SMB3 29-20, RBY beats B/W 31-21. RBY's in an SFF match so there's a caveat, but even taking that out, CT's got the clear advantage.
Week 6: CT beats RSE 35-14; RBY beats TWEWY 32-22. Prior to last week, that would be a clear advantage for CT; after TWEWY's upset of MGS2, it's a bit closer. Still CT's, though.
Week 7: CT defeats F-Zero GX 33-14; RBY trounces MUA 39-9. Another one where RPI would make this overwhelming for CT, but it's really a bit closer, as like SoMI, F-Zero GX has an overall record far better than their actual worth due to a schedule high in fodder. Still, MUA's winless, so give the edge to CT...barely.
Week 8: CT trounces DMC1 41-13; RBY beats SF64 in OT. That margin of victory gives it to CT, but again, I like RBY's quality of opponent better.
Week 9: CT defeats World of Goo 36-8; RBY defeats Gears of War 46-9. Both facing fodder, and RBY scores the bigger blowout.
Week 10: CT defeats ALttP 29-20; RBY defeats LA 31-22. Week 1 in reverse as now it's CT with the superior opponent, but looking at those low votals, it's pretty clear that everyone loses.
Week 11: RBY beats Galaxy 2 33-17; CT beats SMRPG 29-19. Obvious advantage to RBY, as much as I personally dislike Galaxy 2. Then again, I'm not terribly fond of SMRPG either.
Week 12: RBY defeats Cave Story 39-8; CT defeats TTYD 29-20. I really want to give this one to CT, because I love TTYD, but it's been a huge disappointment in this contest, so I think that close win doesn't help versus RBY's blowout. (Also, note that one of Cave Story's four wins was against World of Goo.)
Week 13: You're joking, right? RBY would have to lose outright to not take this week if CT comes up anywhere short of a tripling.

Really? Because if you want to talk RPI, Galaxy 2 is 6th, ahead of SMB3. RBY was one vote short of doubling it, something CT has never come close to doing against anything above maybe fourth-tier.
