Not sure why you're complaining over JFG/F-Zero GX, either. They're fairly well-known, even a lot of the people voting E here said they're doing so because it's been a while since they played them instead of 'wtf is this game'. Do you just not like them? Oh well?

They are decently well liked, but I just don't feel like there have been as many great games as there should be in this so far, and a lot of stuff is missing. I just think the nom process could've been better!

We're not even 1/4 done with R1 yet, and we've already seen Bioshock, Fire Emblem, Portal 2, Symphony of the Night, MGS3, FFT, Dragon Quest, Super Mario World, Shadow of the Colossus, Majora's Mask, Pokemon RBY, Call of Duty 4, and Super Mario 64.

If you'd like to name what 'great' games in the bracket have been snubbed, then I'm all ears. There are some, but no more than any other contest. REMEMBER, 'Icehawk likes a game' does not make it a 'great' game.

yet we have umineko, touhou, fate/stay night, 2 different Fire Emblem games (the games are fine, but do we really need 2?), Jet Force Gemini, a warioware game, an xenosaga game, Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafallica, 3 Resident Evil games (obviously 1, maybe 2 is fine, but THREE?), 2 different Shadow Hearts games (like I said, 1 is fine, but did we need 2?)

I'm just saying, I think a lot of this is due to the short nom cycle and lack of noms and the lack of effort towards the nom tiebreakers. It allowed a few passionate fans to get way too many games from some series in, a few too many super niche games, and a serious lack of a lot of great games. with only 128 games from all of gaming history, a match like JFG vs. F-Zero is kind of lame.

don't get me wrong, this is still my fav contest on B8 right now, I just hope in an ABGC2, more effort and time is put into the prelim stuff.

Congrats! Welcome to B8. We have a phobia of western games here. Fun fact: a game only needed 2 nominations to be considered, and only 8 games with 2 nominations were cut. Those games didn't get in because they couldn't get 2 nominations, which is pretty bad. While it doesn't reflect on the quality of the games, it does reflect on what B8 thinks of them. I can't control what B8 thinks, unfortunately.

Second, there is nothing wrong with any game you listed. A very large point of this contest is to see how niche games do against more well-known games. You do not like Jet Force Gemini, we get it! That doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be here. The theme of this contest was that every game deserves to be here, large, small, or weeaboo.

Third, out of the 8 nominations cut, only 1 was a western game, and 6 of them were games from series already represented in the contest.

You'd be surprised how many people play these games. And the fact that only 2 noms were needed is what I mean about more noms/more time. And I don't think Jet Force Gemini is a "bad game" I just don't think it's anything worth including in a contest that is supposed to have a lot of the best games ever. JFG and F-Zero is just a weird matchup of two games that aren't necessarily that beloved or even played by that many people. it just feels out of place in a contest like this

I like both of those games a good bit.

Really, it is not our place to decide which games deserve to be in here. It's regrettable that so few western games made it in, but stuff happens. As people seem to like this contest, there will probably be an ABGC2, so go ahead and push for more western games then.
