1. In this contest, you only vote for a game if you’ve played both games in its’ match. Both games. This is important. 2. You have to have played them yourself, physically. Reading a Let’s Play is not playing. Watching your friend or youtube is not playing. Disliking a genre is not playing. Playing the prequel/sequel is not playing. You’re the judge of how long you need to play a game before it’s fair to vote, but you probably shouldn’t be voting for/against a 40-hour RPG if you’ve played the first 5 minutes. 3. All ports & remakes are grouped together. You can vote for RBY if you’ve only played FireRed. 4. Please vote honestly. There are plenty of contests where you can vote any way you want. The entire purpose of this contest is ruined if people don’t honor the honor system. 5. In the event of a tiebreaker, the game with less C/D votes moves on. 6. One vote per person. Rallying is allowed if the people rallied also vote fairly and by the rules. Whichever game has more votes from people who have played both games (i.e. Choice A vs. Choice B) moves on. We have our first, and probably only, match of the contest where everyone has played one of the games in it. Majora's Mask took a decent lead early on and then stalled for the rest of the match, and was never really in danger.
In the second match, a JRPG defeated an FPS. I, for one, am shocked.
Yesterday set a new record for votals that I doubt gets broken anytime soon. Nintendo does a good job at bringing all the B8ers to the yard (even if it apparently can't win matches in this format).

not a huge fan of either, but F-Zero GX was decent, but frankly, with some of the games that have gotten in, I really think KP should have let the nom process go on longer, and maybe did a better system over randomization for the tiebreaker for noms

The idea was to strike a balance between well-known games, known games, less known games, and a few very obscure games thrown in. I'd say it worked just fine.
Not sure why you're complaining over JFG/F-Zero GX, either. They're fairly well-known, even a lot of the people voting E here said they're doing so because it's been a while since they played them instead of 'wtf is this game'. Do you just not like them? Oh well?
